In this successful journey, Katrina Kaif has been paired opposite many rocking stars of Bollywood but this time she is paired opposite such an actor working opposite whom is said to be a lifetime opportunity. Yes, it is right we will get to see Katrina Kaif romancing Amitabh Bachchan on-screen.
‘Patiala House’ and ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ director Nikhil Advani has approached the diva and the megastar to star opposite each other for a highly unconventional role in his next film ‘Mehrunnisa’.
Nikhil Advani has approached Kat to play this challenging role. If she accepts the offer then it would be a challenge for the diva whose acting caliber always questioned.
Throwing light on the role that the actress will be portraying, it is learnt that she will be playing a 20 year old woman whose life will be followed till she turns 60.
A source said, “Nikhil is adamant on having Katrina on board. He even flew to London just to be able to narrate the film to her. The final call will be taken when Kat returns to Mumbai.”
First time Kat will be cast opposite an actor much older to her but Big B already experienced to romance a young girl. He was cast opposite Jiah Khan in ‘Nishabd’.
Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar’s lovemaking news aired on March 12 is still hitting the headlines. Audiences, critics expressed their views to the first ever smooch scene on Indian television. Some liked it and some highly criticized the bold scene aired on the prime time. However, Jeetendra and Tusshar Kapoor defended Ekta Kapoor for taking such bold steps.
Defending his daughter, Jeetendra said, “Actually, I really liked that romance. People might have considered it too much but I found it subtle. If a husband and a wife meet after six months, then it is bound to happen. But whatever happened was subtle. There was nothing vulgar in it. I found it alright.”
Ekta Kapoor’s brother Tusshar Kapoor defended his sister saying, “I don’t think people really like decent serials because people point fingers at decent serials as well. I think it is important to break certain norms; only then people will appreciate decency. Critics are never happy and whatever people like and appreciate is within limits.”
However, Ekta has broken the tattoo of the TV which has received mixed reviews.
She has given every Indian a reason to be proud. Hers is the face that launched a thousand products both in India and in the international circuit. Her beauty and popularity crosses geo-political boundaries. That’s Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the Queen of Hearts, the new celebrity mother in town, and one of the contenders on BIG CBS Love’s India’s Glam Diva who is basking in her new challenging role.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan continues to be the most watched & talked about star in the industry. Her marriage, pregnancy, motherhood, first public appearance post motherhood… every move has the entire nation wanting to know more. There’s nothing about Aishwarya that is a secret from her admirers. Yet we bring some excerpts from some commonly asked questions to her:
On why she participated in the Miss World Pageant in 1994:
For me, it went beyond being a beauty queen. For me, it was about being the 20-year-old girl from India on international platform and a lot of people actually would assume that I wasn’t even educated in India because of the way I’d speak. And they’d be like, ‘Have you studied in India? Do you actually speak English out there?’ and, I was like, ‘This is so interesting that so many people know so little about my country.’ and this is exactly what I wanted to do when I set out on this little mission in my head.”
On her moving from architecture to films:
I was studying to be an architect. I wasn’t plotting to join movies. Films were just another career option. I took acting up with the same school girl enthusiasm as I had for examinations. Acting is a job and I take it seriously.
Playing UMRAO JAAN:
It was a demanding emotional journey. When a story takes that course it is following an entire arch, it goes through all possible emotions. The process was satisfying, inspiring and challenging. It forced me to deliver my best.
On her character in DHOOM: 2:
It’s the kind of character I have never essayed before. Sunehiri, my character in the film, is distinctly different from any other character you have seen me play. That’s what makes her exciting to me. For the first time in my life I went through a bit of a fitness regime. Contrary to popular belief, right since modeling, to the (Miss World) title, to films, I have never been a fitness freak or exercised.
On donating her eyes:
I’m just average woman with average concerns. People know me more because of my eyes. So, I decided to donate my eyes. But before that, I acquired all the information about the campaign. Within what time after death one has to donate eyes, and all other information. Only then I decided to donate my eyes. It’s not that just for doing something, I donated my eyes. I found that useful so I did it. I like to do social service from my heart. Whatever is possible I do, but I don’t speak about that. However, I would like to give more time to it in the near future.
On being on the list of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the world:
It’s undoubtedly an honor. It feels great that I was a part of this remarkable group.
On being voted as the most beautiful Bollywood star in Hollywood:
Wow! The most bankable Bollywood star in Hollywood! Thank you. I must confess that any acknowledgement of hard work makes me feel content. In all humility I want to thank all those who feel I am bankable.
An FIR against Genelia D’Souza and five others has been ordered by Hyderabad court following a complaint lodged by Mr. Tirupataiah. In his complaint, Mr. Tirupataiah said that he has paid Rs. 54 lakhs to construct a duplex house at Maheswaram mandal on the outskirts of the city to the five directors of a real-estate firm as well as its brand ambassador- Genelia.
Mr. Tirupataiah paid the money for the construction of his duplex house in 2008 but till date it has not been done. “Being the brand ambassador of the firm, Genelia also made false promises through advertisements and brochures and cooperated with other accused in cheating,” the plot buyers Tirupathaiah’s counsel Balaji Vadera claimed.
Following the complaint, the court directed Saifabad police to inquire the matter and also to register a case against Genelia and five others for cheating under relevant sections of IPC. The court has asked all the five to submit a report by March 27.
The scam is reportedly of a whopping Rs.250 crores. There has been no reaction from Genelia’s side.
Director Vikram Bhatt started his career with clean entertaining films like JAANAM, FAREB etc. and then moved to all out commercial ventures such as AAP MUJHE ACHHE LAGNE LAGE, GHULAM, AWARA PAGAL DEEWANA, and was pretty successful here too, but he soon changed tracks and shifted his attention to a genre that is as safe as a house, horror and suspense/thriller.
With his last directorial venture, HAUNTED 3D, going on to achieve a blockbuster status, all eyes are now focused on his latest production venture, HATE STORY, directed by Vivek Agnihotri and starring Gulshan Devaiya, Nikhil Dwivedi and above all the hot and sensational Paoli Dam. Her daring bare back act and no holds barred dialogue delivery as well as spontaneity and confidence, and a figure to die for, remind many of Bipasha Basu‘s early days of JISM and RAAZ.
The bold theatrical trailer of the film has created quite a stir, and has evoked contrasting reactions from cine goers. Some have been mighty impressed by the bold and sexually explicit scenes and dialogues in the film, others feel quite revolted by the ‘in your face’ erotic thriller.
However, one thing is clear from the promo and that is that Vikram Bhatt has another winner on hands. And the reason is that the film looks like an ‘edge-of-the-seat’ erotic thriller, with a powerful story and a highly engaging screenplay, one that never slackens pace. Additionally, it also has power packed performances from its lead stars, as is evident from the trailer, and the latest Bengali beauty from Tollywood, Paoli Dam, looks smoking hot and highly confident.
Well, as we have seen in the past, bold thrillers like JISM, MURDER and MURDER 2 have been lapped up by the audience, and so there is no reason why the same cannot happen with HATE STORY. In fact trade is very upbeat about its box-office performance and it’s just a matter of a month, April 20 to be precise when the film releases all over!

Bollywood film Shootout at Wadala has been in the news right from its mahurat launch. Be it the invitation hand-out fiasco or the more recent incident of John Abraham hurting himself in a fight sequence. Must say Ekta and Sanjay Gupta do have a passion for spice and their recent joint venture will surely continue to catch eye-balls till the time the film is ready for release.
Barely a fortnight since the film started shooting and Balaji Telefilms and White Feather Films kicked off their venture, “Shootout at Wadala” with a party held at Mumbai’s suburban nightspot Escobar.
The party was hosted by Mr Suresh Mehta and Mr Sanjay Gupta, the director of the film.
The party was attended by the cast of Shootout at Wadala namely John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Tushar Kapoor,Sonu Sood and the petite Kangana Ranaut. Producer and head honcho of Balaji Telefilms, Ekta Kapoor was also present at the event.
With such an impressive star-cast and hot, burning subject and the whiz minds of Ekta Kapoor and Sanjay Gupra one can’t just wait for the film to be complete.

Currently, the ‘Murder’ actress is busy shooting ‘Kismat Love Paisa Dilli’ with Vivek Oberoi. The film has stored some intimate scene between Mallika and Vivek Oberoi. In the movie, she is playing a Haryani girl.
Actor Saif Ali Khan says the character of a spy essayed by him in yet-to-be-released Agent Vinod reflects contemporary India unlike the James Bond movies where the protagonist was essentially the representative of “capitalist society”.
Though Agent Vinod has all the essential ingredients–cars, guns and of course women, with lot of action–of a typical Bond movie, Saif says the spy is entrenched in Indian society.
Saif, who is also producer of the spy thriller, says if Agent Vinod could garner even a fraction of popularity of any Bond movie, he would be more than happy.
“…If then it is a big thing for us. James Bond is very iconic in this field. James Bond is a British hero against Russia…If we understand the significance of Bond thing then it is very political thing, Western society is capitalist where drinking and smoking is not bad thing…He is hero,” Saif told reporters in Mumbai.
Drawing a line between typical Bond series and the spy thriller, the 41-year-old actor says the protagonist is contemporary and does not carry the baggage of past.
“India it seems is no more influenced by Russia. Agent Vinod is not philosophical in the same place. India has also changed and I feel this is the right time to send the agent to London and can be proud of him, he does not look like a 70s hero,” he said.
Agent Vinod, written and directed by Sriram Raghavan, features Saif along with Kareena Kapoor in lead roles and is releasing on March 23.
“I play the role of Indian RAW Agent. The film opens in the eastern Europe. Agent Vinod’s partner in the film has joined hands with LeT or Russian mafia and he passes them all information but he is caught and killed, but he leaves a clue behind before he dies,” the actor said.
However, like a typical Bond movie, the mission for the desi spy seems to prevent nuclear war from happening.
“Agent Vinod is on a mission. Then a rollercoaster ride begins where he goes to Moscow and then to Pakistan to India to London to Capetown. And he saves nuclear war that was to happen in Delhi,” he said.
Rajnikanth had earlier sung the song ‘Adikuthu Kuluru’ for the film MANNAN in 1992.
Produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment Limited, KOCHADAIYYAN – a 3D film with performance capturing technology, is directed by Soundarya Ashwin Rajnikanth. Also starring R. Sarathkumar and Deepika Padukone, the film is scheduled to release later this year.
Every great director has a back-lash coming his way once he is successful. Being a strong supporter and ardent fan of Anurag Kashyap’s films, it’s hard to accept the unsavoury and malicious gossip circulating about him. Read on, and you will realize there is no truth to it.
It is him who has been proclaiming this from every available forum. A few years back while imparting valuable and treasure-worthy gyan to a film festival crowd he disclosed this important guru-mantra. He repeated the same thing again in one of the sessions on the second day of FICCI Frames 2012 that was also addressed by the other ‘new-age’ star directors of Bollywood Imtiaz Ali, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, and Amol Gupte.
Kashyap’s modus-operandi is very simple. He tells his producers the story that they like and goes ahead and makes the film he likes. This probably was the reason Kumar Mangat, the producer of NO SMOKING, believed the film was against the lethal cancer-causing habit. It finally turned out to be Kashyap’s existential magnum opus, incomprehensible and intractable even by a learned film reviewer like the late Nikhat Kazmi. And probably this could be the reason the ace director has not been able to get around Aamir Khan who tends to leave nothing to chance while doing a film and has the meticulous habit of interviewing and hand-picking even his production crew.
Some years back Kashyap had prematurely announced that Aamir would do his Danny Boyle produced film BOMBAY VELVET. It did not happen and the film, according to reports, is finally being made with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. One wonders if Kashyap has some surprises in store for Mr. Boyle too.
Just a day or two ago media was rife with news that Aamir Khan has postponed the release date of his upcoming film TALAASH, which was earlier slated to release on 1st June 2012 all over. Now UTV Motion Pictures has announced the release date of their much touted film ROWDY RATHORE starring Akshay Kumar. Quite interestingly ROWDY RATHORE has been scheduled for 1st June 2012
Directed by Prabhudeva, ROWDY RATHORE also stars Sonakshi Sinha. Produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film is a remake of the super-hit Telugu film VIKRAMARKUDU, which was also remade in Tamil as SIRUTHAI. Music director duo Sajid-Wajid composed the music for the film.
The film will see Akshay Kumar back in his original action avatar.
Seems like Aamir’s TALAASH has inadvertently paved a way for Akshay’s ROWDY RATHORE!
‘Yes, we are making BOMBAY VELVET with Ranbir Kapoor. The reason why Ranbir is in the film is because he fits the role and has liked the role. Moreover, with Ranbir I can rest easy with the kind of money involved in the film,’ Anurag revealed.
Though, the rest of the details related to the script, the genre and Ranbir’s role have not been divulged yet by the director, we are excited to see the coming together of the extraordinary talents.

Stirring up tremendous buzz in tinsel town after revealing bold poster of Vikram Bhatt’s HATE STORY directed by Vivek Agnihotri. We present to you the synopsis of this Bollywood movie. The movie has Paoli Dam,Nikhil Dwivedi ,Gulshan Devaiah in lead roles.
This movie is based on a woman’s vengeance and how she uses her sexuality as a weapon.
Paoli is all set to take Bollywood by storm starring in Vikram Bhatt’s next bold movie titled ‘Hate Story’ which has been penned and produced by him solely. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the movie is based on a woman’s vengeance and how she uses her sexuality as a lethal weapon. The film also stars Nikhil Dwivedi and Gulshan Devaiah. She made her debut with the Bengali film Agnipariksha in 2006. She came into limelight in 2009 when she won several accolades for her Bengali film – Kaalbela, directed by notable Director Gautam Ghose and has also received an award for Shera Bangali New Face 2009.
She has also shared screen space with Bipasha Basu in Shob Charitro Kalponik directed by Rituparno Ghosh. Paoli was recently in thenews for her nude scene in the movie titled “Chhatrak” which was premiered at the Cannes and Toronto Film Festivals. The sultry actress raised a lot of eyebrows from several quarters for this explicit scene containing full frontal nudity. In fact, she is the first Bengali actress to have done such a sensational scene in a Bengali movie!
Even before the start of the promotions of Mahesh Bhatt’s “Blood Money”, the film hogged limelight for a leaked intimate scene between Kunal Khemu and Canadian girl Mia. The actor says it was not a publicity strategy and he is not comfortable doing such scenes.
Many feel that the film has garnered some extra bit of promotion and much needed controversy with the leaked video, but Kunal said: “We as a team don’t think it’s the right publicity strategy. We don’t know who has done that. That’s not what the film is about and we don’t want to mislead the audiences.”
“Whether you are in a relationship or not, it is always difficult and makes you nervous to do intimate scenes. If you are in a relationship, communication is the key,” said Kunal who is dating Soha Ali Khan.
“Thankfully for me, I am in a relationship with an actress who is also from the same industry. So I am not saying that it’s really very easy, but you deal with it and do it but she understands it,” added the 28-year-old.
The infamous on-screen fights shared between veterans Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna in the late 70’s is soon to be recreated on screen in Eros International and Sajid Nadiadwala‘s Housefull 2.
The sequel to one of the biggest hits of the year 2010,will see lead actors Akshay Kumar and John Abraham exchange blows in an intense fight sequence executed by Action director Kawee Sirikhanaerut from Thailand action company -Seng Kawee of Rambo and Lara Croft fame.
And if sources are to be believed the famous Amitabh Bachchan-Vinod Khanna fights on-screen have served as reference points to the critical scenes shared by Akshay and John in the masala-entertainer.
Confirms director Sajid Khan “I have designed all the action sequences and used fight scenes between Amitabh and Vinod Khanna in 1970’s films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Parvarish and Khoon Pasina as inspiration”. Adding that “I haven’t used any special effects .Today, even a kid can point out fake stunt sequences. As kids, we’d count the number of punches Amitji and Vinod Khanna would throw so in the film I’ve given John and Akshay an equal number”.
Says producer Sajid Nadiadwala “ It was Sajid Khan’s dream to design such stunt sequences. And since both of us are crazy fans of Manmohan Desai and Prakash mehra, there was no debate when he created those scenes”.
Directed by Sajid Khan , starring an ensemble cast -Akshay Kumar, John Abraham ,Riteish Deshmukh, , Shreyas Talpade , Asin ,Zarine Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez ,Shazahn Padamsee , Rishi Kapoor ,Randhir Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty , Sajid Nadiadwala and Eros International’s Housefull 2 comes to a theatre near you April 5.th,2012.
A lot is said about actors getting under the skin of their characters but VJ and Roadies winner Ayushmann Khurrana did just that in quite the literal sense for his forthcoming film John Abraham’s Vicky Donor.
We all are very much aware of the fact that Vidya would be performing her first item number in the movie Farrari Ki Sawari directed by Rajesh Mapuskar. The song “mala jao dya na ghari” has already managed to make the audience go crazy and fanatical. It is a proper authentic lavani song. And if sources are to be believed vidya herself is taking a keen interest for an accurate execution of this song. The result however is fantastic.
Besides Vidya is taking personal interest and working towards perfection. From the sari to the accessories to the dance steps, she refuses to compromise on anything. Also Vidya spent over three weeks rehearsing the dance step with the troupe from Kolhapur. With such hard work put up from vidya, Rajesh Mapuskar is extremely satisfied with the outcome.
Even though the result is equal to perfection Rajesh Mapuskar and Vidya Balan insist on having the first screening with authentic dancers to see their reaction. It was hence a co-operative decision taken by the team to show it to a group of lavani dancers.
Rajesh and Vidya both are looking into the minutest of the details and are refuting to negotiate on authenticity.
However it’s for the first time where the screening will be shown to a group of dancers. Also they are sure that they would receive honest feedback. Rajesh Mapuskar confirms, “We want the song to look purely authentic, although we are in talks with a bunch of Lavani dancers from Kolhapur for the first test screening”.
Setting a trend of sorts,Illuminati’s Agent Vinod is the first film in the history of Indian cinema to have commissioned a full-fledged graphic novel to compliment a film.
Titled the “The Jungfrau Encounter”, the meaty 90 pager is written byYogesh Chandekar with art by Saumin Patel and is published by Westland Ltd .
Backed by the major publisher, The Jungfrau Encounter will kick-start a graphic novel series that will run parallel with the Agent Vinod franchise .Not an adaptation of Illuminati action thriller, the book, set in the same fictional universe is an original novel which introduces Agent Vinod .
Confirms Paul Vinay Kumar, publisher, Westland Ltd, “The graphic novel (based on “Agent Vinod”) we are doing is called “The Jungfrau Encounter” and does not follow the film script. It talks about the introduction of Agent Vinod, so in a way, it is setting the tone of the character. We didn’t want to have a straight adaptation of the film, that is why the name of the novel is different. We were given the script to understand the character and the mood of the film. Based on this, we have a new story that talks about the origin of the lead character. Thus, there is a degree of independence here and the plot varies.” Adding that “All Bollywood films cannot be converted into graphic novels because you need to have a sense of curiosity and novelty, and also a very strong character. It is an experiment for us and if we receive a good response from our readers, we will continue with the franchise. Saif Ali Khan was involved in the beginning as he liked the idea.”.
“The Jungfrau Encounter” revolves around four mysterious strangers meeting at a restaurant high up in the Bernese Alps of Jungfrau. They are there to settle a score with Agent Vinod, who is responsible for the predicament each of them are in.
Says director Sriram Ragahvan “Except for the first sequence in which I used some elements from the novel and the style, both of us have been working independently but in sync, in an effort to take Agent Vinod beyond the movie. If the film works we, could flag off a popular fiction series that runs parallel with the movie franchise”.
Says producer Dinesh Vijan “We’ve often said that agent Vinod is an inspired cross between the Tintin comics and the Bond series. So nothing could be more befitting than releasing this brilliant comic book which gives us an unseen glimpse into the wild wild world of Agent Vinod!”.

Shot in over 12 countries including Morocco, Russia and Latvia, the highly anticipated action-adventure –Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Agent Vinod directed by Sriram Ragahvan is all set to release on the 23rd of March 2012 .

The rumoured couple Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sonal Chauhan were seen in no mood to hide their relationship anymore
Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sonal Chauhan are hell-bent on painting the town red.
The rumoured couple was spotted at a nightspot in Kala Ghoda over the weekend. They seemed to be living it up even though a bunch of friends accompanied them.
Says an onlooker, “They appeared to be having a good time together. From their behaviour, it certainly looked that the two are throwing caution to the wind.
They did not care that there were people around or they were being watched. Or anyone would take snapshots of them.”
Adds the onlooker, “They both came together at the lounge bar and were there for a considerable time. As the place did not have too many Bollywood folk hanging out there were at ease laughing and chatting away.”
Earlier in the evening both the actors were spotted at a fashion event in the suburbs.
But strangely they did not arrive together due to the media presence. They made sure that they came separately at different timings and left too separately.
It appears that the two hooked up later and drove down to south Mumbai for a night out.
For the past month there has been buzz about Sonal and Neil doing the B-Town rounds.
The two were also spotted together at the recent Dheeraj Deshmukh-Honey Bhagnani’s sangeet.
The two who were mere acquaintances seemed to have been bonding big time lately ever since Sonal was a guest at Neil’s house party. The actors remained unavailable for comment.
Actor Aamir Khan, who would be seen as a baddie in the third installment of hit film series ‘Dhoom’, says, he is not mentally prepared for the film.
“I have started preparations for “Dhoom 3″. For my role I have began working on the physical side. But I am not mentally prepared yet,” Aamir told reporters here.
“Dhoom” series centres around bike chases, handsome thieves and daring theft plans. After the success of “Dhoom” (2004) and “Dhoom 2” (2006) there is a lot of buzz around the third movie.
Aamir would play the bad guy while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra would reprise their roles of Jai and Uday respectively.
The 47-year-old actor would feature opposite Katrina Kaif in the film, directed by Victor Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra. It is set to hit cinema houses in 2013.

Life Ki Toh Lag GAyi is not only the debutant director Rakesh Mehta’s first film however it also has experimental music given for the film by debutant Song and Music composer Vinay Jaiswal.Keeping the look and feel of the film in mind the director Rakesh Mehta wanted a different kind of a music altogether in the film. He gave Vinay a briefing about the same.
One of the songs in the film is coined as” Main Haryana ka sher ” after creating the song Vinay Jaiswal wanted this to be sung by none other than Daler Mehendi, when Daler Mehendi heard the lyrics and the rough dub, within seconds he was so excited and wanted to sing this, and after the recording was over, Daler was so impressed that he expressed praises and will to work with Vinay in the future again, admiring Vinay’s talent .
“Main Haryane ka Sher” has a fresh feel in hip-hop & Bhangra , apparently this is a first of its kind of a song having a haranvi-hip hop groove to it and to top it all it’s a cop song with a lot of attitude.
As per Daler this song is going to be a super hit especially in the north Indian belt, as Delhi, Haryana , Punjab and parts of UP can relate to it.

Miss India pageant winner Sarah Jane Dias had to brave through a wardrobe malfunction scene for her upcoming film Balaji’s Kya Super Kool Hai Hum.
The actress had to revisit her modeling days as she stepped into the shoes of Carol Gracious who met with the misfortunate incident a couple of years ago, for a scene that sees her walk the ramp for a fashion week.
Says a production source “Sarah initially had her reservations while shooting the scene since it was a sensitive subject especially since she has an extensive background in modeling. However she handled it like a thorough professional and shot the scene with utmost grace.”
On the brighter side, the model-turned-actress sported the same Hemant Trivedi gown she won the pageant in.
“Sarah was very nostalgic shooting for the scene since she was sporting the same gown Hemant designed for her and was very excited to be wearing it again for the film” adds the source.
After the runaway success of Balaji Motion Pictures ‘ 2005 hit comedy Kya Kool Hai Hum, the team of the film reunites for the rib-tickling sequel, titled Kya Super Kool Hai Hum ,scheduled to release August 2012.
Though known mostly for his spine chilling thrillers with male centric themes, like JOHNNY GADDAR, EK HASINA THI, maverick director Sriram Raghavan has always given his lead actresses their due importance. Who can forget the award winning act by actress par excellence Urmila Matondkar in EK HASINA THI or Rimi Sen‘s short but highly effective role in JOHNNY GADDAR.
In order to know his views on his latest lead actress Kareena Kapoor and his experience of working with her in AGENT VINOD, we decided to ask the director who said, “Kareena was simply superb to work with. Yes, she is a spontaneous actor and has an instant connect with the viewer.”
When we queried him about her role in the film, Sriram replied, “She has a complex role in the film, though I can’t reveal that now. She can be glamorous and real at the same time.”
We went a step further and asked him to compare Kareena with Urmila who we feel is just as spontaneous and natural like Kareena and he says, “Well, Urmila too is a fabulous actor. She is my first heroine and was superb in EK HASINA THI.”
Certainly, no one else could have summed up the acting prowess of Kareena and Urmila better than Sriram Raghavan.
The way Ranbir Kapoor has managed his selection of films and consistently delivered at the box office has made him one of the most sought after stars in B-town. And no doubt his parents are extremely proud of him carrying forth the family baton in such a splendid manner.
Dad Rishi Kapoor feels that Ranbir needs to move beyond multiplex audiences and reach out to the viewer in the smaller towns too. “He hasn’t yet mustered enough courage to do massy roles. We know he is a reasonably good actor but I want him to do a film now that will go beyond just the multiplexes and goes to small cities and towns. He must take up those roles which he hasn’t yet but I believe he is thinking of trying to work on that,” says Rishi Kapoor.
And the son seems to have taken this advice from his dada a tad seriously. Now we hear Ranbir is insisting on scripts that live up to his dad’s expectations.
Vidya Balan has created history. She has delivered her fourth consecutive hit in the past two years and the first hit as a solo lead star. The legendary silver screen stars and divas like Madhubala, Nutan, Nargis, Vaijayanti Mala, Hema Malini, Rekha, and a score of others had done strong women-centric roles, yet they could not break the long held and assiduously nurtured myth that heroine oriented films are box-office anathemas.
Vidya Balan has demolished the myth and her extra-ordinary achievement has opened new doors of possibilities for our film actresses who always get billed second to their male counterparts in spite of being more talented than them. The Katrinas, Kareenas, and Priyankas of Bollywood should thank this power-house of an intelligent actress who has blazed a trail that can now be followed by them and others to write their own stories of success. If these actresses wish and have the guts and gumption, they can afford not to be dependent on the Khans and survive by their talent alone by picking up good scripts.
The collections for Vidya Balan’s latest release KAHAANI registered a steep rise after a ‘not-so-good’ Friday (9th March, 2012) and are all set to touch Rs.15 crores (nett) for the weekend. The film is on the way to be declared the second genuine hit of the year and in terms of cost-collection ratio and profitability may even beat the star-studded extravaganza like AGNEEPATH. On the other hand PAAN SINGH TOMAR first crawled and then had a good run at the box-office. If not an all out hit, it may turn out to be an average performer by the end of its second week. It should recover its cost and might even return a small profit to the producers and distributors before dropping off the box office radar.
John: VICKY DONOR will lend credibility to sperm donation
Bollywood actor John Abraham, who is going strong and has some cream projectsHOUSEFULL 2, RACE 2, SHOOTOUT AT WADALA, DOSTANA 2, I, ME AUR MAIN under his belt, is gearing up for his first film as a producer VICKY DONOR, based on sperm donation.
“Shoojit (director) and I always wanted to work together. I am big fan of his work. When Shoojit came to me with the script of VICKY DONOR, I loved it and at that very moment we decided to present it together. That is how I turned a producer and I am quite happy in this capacity and enjoying this space. I remember I was a newcomer at one point of time and how the industry encouraged me, so I think the new talent should also be encouraged and given a perfect launch pad.”
Where many actors who turned producers prefer starring in their own film, John decided to go otherwise. He went with producing VICKY DONOR instead of starring in it. Says John, “Right from the beginning, when Shoojit showed me the script, it was clear that the film demanded new faces. And we have some very good casting in the form of Ayushman Khurrana, Yaami Gupta and Annu Kapoor. Moreover, usually the actor-turned-producers star in their first films to power their first films. But I think it’s better and important to present the first film effectively in the capacity of a producer.”
Nevertheless like any producer to create a buzz about the film, John would be seen doing a special video to promote VICKY DONOR. “Yes I do have a special appearance in the film. I have a song called ‘Rum Whisky’ in the film. Bosco and Ceaser are choreographing it,” confirms John.
John’s VICKY DONOR is the first film which deals with a delicate topic like sperm donation. Under such scenario ask John about the treatment of the film and acceptance of such unusual topic and he points a reference of his own film DOSTANA in the past, “The concept of sperm donation is first of its kind and very unique. It has to be treated with lot of care. Homosexuality was treated in a very caricaturish manner till DOSTANA happened. DOSTANA to an extent gave credibility to the homosexuality and it was well accepted. Sperm donation which is a taboo for lot of people will be treated with lot of credibility after VICKY DONOR.”
John adds further, “There are no adult jokes in the film. It’s very tastefully done.”
John personally believes in sperm donation and emphasises on the topic. “I believe in sperm donation. From 1982 to 2002 in Mumbai itself, the rate of childless couples has increased by 50%. Today when we speak about sperm donation, it’s a taboo. But I think this is a topic which needs to be addressed. Having said that, VICKY DONOR is not a social film, it’s a commercial and fun film. We have touched the topic of sperm donation in the most respectable manner,” says the actor-turned-producer.
VICKY DONOR is all set to hit the screens on 20th Apr
A press meet was held at the office of Top Angle Production in Andheri after the release of Chaar Din Ki Chandni. The media had a candid round of questionaire with the director-producer Samir Karnik, the ravishing Kulraj Randhawa and Vice President of Verve Motion Plus – Prashant Mishra who also the film’s distributor in Hong Kong.
There were talks mainly about the lavish red carpet premiere the film has in Hong Kong on March 10th which has been organized by Kkings Entertainment Limited in association with Verve Motion Plus Private Limited.
It is the first time ever that a Red Carpet grand scale permiere is being held for a bollywood movie in Hong Kong. Also it’s the very first time that a Hindi feature film has been released in multiplexes with digital format in Hong Kong and this entire initiative has been taken up Verve Motion Plus and Kkings Entertainment Limited.
Arjumman Mughal who is from Jammu got her debut film YA RAB directed by Hasnain Hydrabadwala .She has started her career as a model in 2005 after completing acting course from Anupam Kher’s acting academy. She has done more then 400 print and commercial ads for which she got International Woman achievement award also as most popular model. She never thought of modelling but it came on my way easily so she accepted. Her passion is to become a great actress. Most important question is being asked me these days is if She can wear bikini and if she can smooch? ahhhh. OK ..actress in the film is for glamour and if the acting is also part of that it looks amazing. I am a professional actress and these things are secondary if script needs why not!
As I am very lucky I have not struggled for anything whatever I needed came to me easily. My concepts of my feature are very clear I am a go getter kind of person I believe in me very strongly. I take life as it comes so my concept is to not plan anything .And my film Ya Rab I got through a writer Iqram Akhtar this was the film it came to me and I had no choice and now I have to choose .This is the difference of being an actress the whole world is happy to see you if you are known hahaha.. There are people I would like to work with like Yashraj films Imtiyaz Ali Ranbir Kapoor there are many fantastic upcoming new actors also. For my fitness I do yoga, gym and dance. I focus on my eating habits that keep me fit. Whatever time I get I spend with my family and friends. I like Chinese food and all kind of homemade food.
Bollywood veteran Rishi Kapoor, a die-hard foodie, couldn’t resist as a plate of his favourite food was the breakfast special while shooting in London for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 2.
If sources are to be believed, the producer had arranged for the caterers to prepare Parathas for everyone on the sets – Rishiji along with the rest of the cast and the crew wasted no time in gorging on them.
Ironically enough the actor had to shoot for a breakfast scene that day and was so stuffed post the gourmet fest that he found it difficult to have a morsel while filming the scene – Director Sajid Khan however cajoled him into eating all through the several retakes.
Says Sajid Khan “Rishiji had to eat a lot on an already stuffed stomach and did it like a true sport …but thankfully his dedication didn’t lead to medication. He did however skip his lunch and dinner for the day”.
Directed by Sajid Khan , starring an ensemble cast -Akshay Kumar, John Abraham ,Riteish Deshmukh, , Shreyas Talpade , Asin ,Zarine Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez ,Shazahn Padamsee , Rishi Kapoor ,Randhir Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty , Sajid Nadiadwala and Eros International’s Housefull 2 comes to a theatre near you 5th April,2012.
It’s not often that an actor contributes to the creative process of making a film -However Riteish Deshmukh, with his background in architecture, did just that as he helped design the layout of a set for his forthcoming film Balaji’s Kya Super Kool Hai Hum also starring Tusshar Kapoor.
The architect- turned- actor assisted the art director by giving creative inputs on sprucing up the set of a bachelor pad for the film. Confirms a production source “The scene was based in a bachelor’s house in Mumbai. Riteish contributed to the placement of the wall structure and arrangement of furniture. Everyone welcomed his ideas, including the director Sachin Yardi, art director Madhur Sarkar and co-star Tusshar Kapoor”
Says Riteish “We were shooting the scene in a particular way and things weren’t working out. Once we changed the setting of the sofa and a few other items, there was more space for the camera and crew members to move around without bumping into each other or the furniture”. Adding “The idea was to have many posters, lots of colour, clutter in certain areas yet having a neat feel to it”.
The actor however is all praise for art director Madhur Sarkar “Madhur is an extraordinary talent. In fact, she inspires me to look at things differently. And it has been a while since I have been inspired by an art director,” says the actor.
After the runaway success of Balaji Motion Pictures ‘ 2005 hit comedy Kya Kool Hai Hum, the team of the film reunites for the rib-tickling sequel, titled Kya Super Kool Hai Hum which is scheduled to release this August.
John Abraham hurt his nose on the sets of Sanjay Gupta’s under-production ‘Shootout At Wadala’.
The incident happened when the unit was shooting in Thane (on the outskirts of Mumbai).
Apparently, a junior artiste punched John’s nose very hard. The actor’s nose started bleeding profusely and the shoot was stalled for an hour.
It is believed that a doctor was summoned to the sets. Later, John had to undergo a few tests to rule out a crack in his nose.
Eros International Media Ltd (EIML) has announced that VICKY DONOR will be releasing on April 20, 2012. The announcement was made at the film’s first look launch at a suburban multiplex in Mumbai.
An Eros co-production with actor John Abraham‘s banner JA Entertainment Production, VICKY DONOR has been directed by Shoojit Sircar and stars Ayushmann Khurrana in his debut role along with Annu Kapoor and Yami Gautam.
The film is about a light hearted take at the taboo attached with infertility and artificial insemination or sperm donation.
Commenting about the film, Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International Media Ltd said, ”With Vicky Donor, one can expect the unusual and out of the box cinema. It is a light, enjoyable film and we are sure audiences are in for a pleasant surprise. We are very happy to associate with John for his maiden production venture.”
Actor-producer John Abraham says, ”I am excited about making a foray into producing films and glad to have Eros on board as co-producers. Also, with Eros’ global marketing and distribution infrastructure, we hope to present this breakthrough commercial cinema to audiences worldwide.”
Sonakshi Sinha would be pretty much realising that attaining stardom is one thing and sustaining it is something else. It may have seemed like a bed of roses after DABANGG but as has turned out, it has been a ride across a tough terrain with multiple assignments during last one year.
”Sonakshi is simultaneously working in as many as five films and that is pretty much taking a toll on her. Still, she can be seen smiling though she is missing her family a lot due to extensive outdoor schedules,” says a friend of the actress.
No wonder, she has been juggling between the shoot of LOOTERA and ROWDY RATHORE at an alarming pace. While climatic conditions and other logistics is one thing, it is also the stark difference in characterization and the style of direction that she is required to adapt, which is exposing her to what film world is all about.
With talkie portions of JOKER being complete and SON OF SARDAR also underway, Sonakshi has to continue her juggling act right through the year. Not just that as towards the end of this month, she begins shooting for DABANGG 2, hence pretty much indicating that life is coming back full circle for her.
”Surprisingly no one is talking about it but she is keeping busier than even Akshay Kumar who is known for working on 3-4 films in a single year,’ the friend adds, ”It is going to be an eventful 2012 for her.”

After the super success of DABANGG, the sequel of the film started rolling today. Unlike the earlier film which was directed by Abhinav Kashyap, this film is directed by Arbaaz Khan whose directorial skills will be put to some real test given the huge expectations that are riding high on the sequel.
According to our sources, ”A lot of preparations can be witnessed on the sets of DABANGG 2 which has been put up in the suburbs. The set of DABANGG 2 is no less than a fortress with over 100 security guards monitoring every move of people present on the sets and the visitors too. Such is the nature of secrecy on the sets that the entire studio has been booked by the makers of this film.”
DABANGG 2 will mark Arbaaz’s foray into film direction. The film will retain its star cast and reportedly Sonakshi will join the crew later this month.
While DABANGG under Abhinav’s direction broke all records, what will be interesting to notice is how Arbaaz makes brand DABANGG a notch above than what it is today.
Move over Kolaveri Di and make way for Agent Vinod’s Pyaar Ki Pungi, the song that’s created mass hysteria as soon as it was released.
The popular item song from Illuminati’s Agent Vinod composed by the ever-so-versatile Pritam Chakraborty is trending all over and making its way atop all charts thanks to its comic, cheeky and catchy tone.
Explains composer Pritam “One of the basic reasons of liking this number is the fact that it is a fun filled song. The song plays in the background during one of the scenes in Agent Vinod. Amitabh Bhattacharya came up with this fantastic hook ‘Pyar ki pungi’ which I am sure could be the next popular phrase among the youngsters” Adding that “Pungi is a musical instrument which is predominantly audible in the song. Hence, the name. The shehnai piece was also extensively used which was later layered with trumpet. So all in all, it is an out an out entertaining and crazy song”.
Pyaar Ki Pungi featuring Saif Ali Khan treats audiences to the actor’s light and naughty side as he grooves to the beats playing the character “Majnu Vinod”-
Says a trade source “ Pyaar Ki Pungi registered numerous fans as soon as it hit online and was predominantly the topic of discussion on all social networking forums much like the Kolaveri Di hysteria…Audiences have last seen Saif ‘s quirky side in Kal Ho Na Ho and he steps it up this time with the Pungi song which is already becoming a common slang with the youth”.
Shot in over 12 countries including Morocco, Russia and Latvia, the highly anticipated action-adventure Agent Vinod also starring Adil Hussain, Ram Kapoor, Prem Chopra and Gulshan Grover, is all set to release on the 23rd of March 2012 .
Vidya Balan is at the peak of her career. Once criticised for her fuller figure and dancing – the lady is now staring in her very first item number in FERRARI KI SAWAARI.
The item number ‘Mala Jau De’ is an authentic lavani song and stars the gorgeous Balan in traditional Maharashtrian attire. After three weeks of extensive rehearsals with a troupe from Kolhapur, Vidya Balan is pleased with the results.
An insider informs, “Although green is the traditional lavani color, director Rajesh Mapuskar chose red for Vidya to showcase her as a flame among men. Everyone including producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and director Rajesh Mapuskar think the song is filmed to perfection. But Vidya and Rajesh want to hold the first screening of the song for authentic dancers to gauge their reactions.”
An elated Mapuskar says, “Yes, we want the song to look absolutely traditional. We are in talks with some lavani dancers from regarding the first screening.”
PAAN SINGH TOMAR is a success but its lead actor Irrfan Khan stays on to be humble as ever. Though he is getting accolades for playing the central protagonist to the T, Irrfan denies that his decision to work in the film had much to do with the fact that he was getting to play a character which was the focal point in practically every scene.
”Arrey aisa career ke start mein hota tha jab lagta tha ki main aisa role karoonga jisme sirf main hi dikhoon. Now it is more about what the story is trying to tell. These are the kind of considerations that drive me today,” explains Irrfan, ”It was the core idea of how an athlete turned into a dacoit that really moved on. I played the role mainly for that than anything else.”
While one waits to see the kind of distance that the film covers from this point on, there is also an added curiosity about seeing Irrfan in Tigmanshu’s SAHEB BIWI AUR GANGSTER 2. However one wonders why he was missing in action fromSHAGIRD and SAHEB, BIWI AUR GANGSTER.
”See it all depends on the director’s conviction. Also, sometimes actors are busy as well,” says Irrfan after a brief pause, ”In fact after CHARAS there was a long gap for Tigmanshu as well since he was trying to find a right producer for the right film. Later when the subject of PAAN SINGH TOMAR was finalised, he thought that only I could have done that. May be in his other films he didn’t get that kind of conviction. It’s okay. In any case when he was working on SAHEB BIWI AUR GANGSTER, I was shooting for a film in Hollywood. That’s okay, such things happen. No regrets.”
Yesteryears producer Sundeep Sethi son, glamour photographer Gaurav Sethi got married to Brazilian Super model Diya Sethi. Bollywood and Television celebrities attended in full strength to wish the couple Gaurav and Diya Sethi.
The promos of AGENT VINOD are on and there are some neat action sequences and thrills pretty much on display. While Saif Ali Khan‘s characterisation comes with an air of mystery around it too, one does expect that AGENT VINOD has a lot more in the offering than some of the recently released action-drama-thriller affairs that fizzled without making any impression whatsoever. One wonders if Sriram has enough twists and turns in his 150 minutes tale that would keep the audience engaged right through its duration.
“See, the term ‘twist’ comes with its own complications and perceptions,” smiles Sriram, “Now when you look at Aamir Khan‘s TALAASH; it gives a clear indication that there are some major twists that would be unleashed at certain points in the film. On the other hand AGENT VINOD is different because it is more of a roller coaster ride instead of a tale that hinges on that one major twist. Of course something big would surprise you in the end but it’s now that there is a rabbit I would pull out of a hat. Other than that about 80% of the film would be fun with only the last part boasting of certain reality of today’s world.”
One can well trust Sriram here, especially since he has a knack of breaking stereotypes, as was evidenced in films like JOHNNY GADDAAR and EK HASEENA THI. Though none of the two were smash hits, they were still appreciated by those who saw them and later went on to become quite popular on the satellite and home video circuits.
“Both films are different though since in EK HASEENA THI, Saif was this cunning and inherently negative person where in AGENT VINOD, he is more of a mysterious guy,” divulges Sriram, “He has reinvented himself in films like OMKARA and BEING CYRUS as well. Now it is a new Saif you would be seeing.”
Well, we look forward to that happening once the film releases all over on 23rd March.

Rajasthan Royals today welcomed UltraTech Cement Limited as the Principal Team Sponsor for IPL 2012. The leading cement brand has been associated with the Rajasthan Royals since the first season of the IPL. They were principal team sponsor in 2009 and 2010 while being an on-ground partner in 2008 and 2011. The Royals also launched the team’s new jerseys and presented their new line up, which includes five cricketers who were acquired at last month’s IPL auction.
“We are very pleased to have UltraTech Cement as the Royals’ Principal Team Sponsor. I am confident that with their support, the Royals, under a new captain and with the exciting new additions to our squad will be able to give our fans a lot to cheer about this season. As a tribute to our home city we have also designed a new training jersey.” said Shilpa Shetty, Rajasthan Royals.
Ms. Shetty along with Mr. Puranmalka launched the team’s official jersey in the presence of team members at the glittering ceremony that witnessed the use of innovative video projection mapping to unveil the brand new jersey. The projection was used to show case the team’s unforgettable moments of victory and pride during the last few seasons.
Now that Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming film KAHAANI is nearing its release, it is being widely raved for its subject, the way the filmmaker executed it, the scale of the project and of course the presence of most-sought after lady of B-town, Vidya Balan. But one hardly knows how much Sujoy had to struggle and toil for the project to take shape. Though he has worked with the likes of Amitabh Bachchan,Riteish Deshmukh, Boman Irani and some topnotch producers in the past, making KAHAANI happen wasn’t a cakewalk for Sujoy.
Sujoy shares about the hardships he went through for KAHAANI, “It was a very tough film to make. There were a lot of things which were against us. Initially there were no takers for KAHAANI. The film was not ready to get finance.”
Ask him if he compromised on the making of KAHAANI considering the budget and he says, “We didn’t compromise on any of the film’s aspects but we took lot of favour. It was a huge struggle but we managed.”
While financial backing was an issue, but Sujoy disagrees with the fact that Vidya was ever apprehensive about doing the film. He says, “In fact Vidya Balan has been my biggest support for KAHAANI. She was never apprehensive about doing the film.”
Sujoy Ghosh’s KAHAANI is all set to release on 9th March 2012.

All eyes were on Riteish Deshmukh as he flew down to Thailand, Krabi Island, only to land on the sets of Sajid Nadiadwala’s HOUSEFULL 2 to shoot for a group song titled ‘Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai’ alongside co-actors Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and Shreyas Talpade.
Fatigued with the marriage arrangements in his family – Riteish turned up with dark circles and puffed eyes that couldn’t be camouflaged with make-up. Quick thinking on director Sajid Khan’s part – Riteish was asked to wear glares in the song.
Says a source, ”Riteish was busy with his wedding and later with his brother Dheeraj’s. He still managed to fit the song shoot in between his hectic schedule but his dark circles were quite evident about his tiredness. Sajid suggested him to sport glares in the song and he readily agreed – it gives ‘Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai’a quirky twist.”
Confirms director Sajid Khan, ”The glares Riteish is wearing in the song are cool 3-D glasses. We all had a good laugh as he was the only one in the group to wear a glass.”
Directed by Sajid Khan, the film has a big starcast including Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade, Asin, Zarine Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Shazahn Padamsee, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty. Sajid Nadiadwala and Eros International’s HOUSEFULL 2 is all set to release on April 2012.
It was few days back that the nation witnessed the war of words between actressChitrangada Singh and the strip sensation Poonam Pandey on a micro-blogging portal but now reports suggest that the actress has denied stating anything against her.
Chitrangada denied the reports to a daily claiming that the account, through which the comments were posted, is not hers. The tweet in the account read, ‘How do you compete with Poonam Pandey, when she is ready to strip for kabbadi matches?’ A fumed Poonam retorted saying, ‘Jealousy: That’s what makes a bitch talk.’
Quite shocked with the entire episode, Chitrangada also mentioned that she’s aware of model Poonam Pandey however is least interested to interfere or rather comment on her life.
Well, we are quite quizzed with this too, as the so called ‘fake account’ comes with tag that says ‘Official Account’ of Chitrangada Singh.

Jimmy Shergill who is busy shooting for his upcoming movie in Delhi was startled by the rumour about Tigmanshu Dhulia’s upcoming movie VALMIKI KI BANDOOK, which involved his name as the lead actor. However, the actor has clarified that he is not a part of the film yet.
Also known as the Shahrukh Khan of Punjab, Jimmy Shergill clarified over the issue saying, ”I have not heard about any such movie. Neither have I done this movie nor am I doing it in future. So whoever has said that I am working in this movie is a wrong statement.”
VALMIKI KI BANDOOK has already created controversy with the Valmiki Samaj of Punjab raising objection over the title. It is also alleged that Tigmanshu Dhulia hasn’t paid the actors of Saheb Biwi aur Gangster their market price. His failure to sell his recently released film Paan Singh Tomar couldn’t get in the financiers. So most of the actors worked on profit sharing basis and weren’t paid their market prices despite the film making good money at the box-office.

As Viacom 18’s Kahaani nears its release, director Sujoy Ghosh couldn’t be more excited and credits a huge portion of the film to lead protagonist Vidya Balan, stating that the film is more “her baby” than his own.
Viacom 18’s suspense thriller Kahaani tells the tale of a seven month pregnant Vidya Bagchi in search of her missing husband alone in a festive city, with nothing to rely on except fragments from her memories about him and when it comes to casting a woman of substance, the director could look no further than Vidya Balan.
Says Sujoy Ghosh ” The story demanded a pregnant woman in the central role. We wanted a well known face since it is the demand of the film and we got it in Vidya. She is a delight of an actress because you just can’t find any flaws in her acting.” Not holding back on praise towards his lead actress he adds “Kahaani’ is more of Vidya’s baby than mine today. She had a certain belief in the film and today she is proud of it. She was not just an actor on the film; she was much more than that. She knew everything about what was happening on the production front. At times she even managed crowds when things became a little unruly while shooting”
If that wasn’t all ,the film’s script-writer Advaita Kala too says she developed the character keeping Vidya in mind and always knew that the actress would do justice to the roll – Says Advaita “I thought of Vidya as the ‘hero’ of my film even before ‘The Dirty Picture’ was released. I believe in telling stories about strong women.”
Ask director Sujoy Ghosh whether he is a bundle of nerves in the release week and he is quick to reply “There is no set formula that tells you whether a film will work or not. I wanted to work with Vidya and I have achieved that.”
Having received critical acclaim of his performances in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster, Randeep Hooda is in serious demand.
The actor who had been lying low will be ushering the year with a slew of interesting movies in his career now.
The actor already has Jannat 2 up for release then there’s Vishram Sawant’s Shooter and Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine where he is essaying the role of a playboy cricketer. Randeep will also be making an interesting guest appearance in Cocktail along with Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone. Next he will be seen in Mahesh Bhatt’s Jism 2.
Now that Randeep Hooda has been signed for Jism 2, Pooja Bhatt wants Randeep Hooda to work hard on his body. Her first instructions when he came on the sets were that he will have to work on his body first and later concentrate on his role.
Not that Randeep does not have a good body but Pooja Bhatt wanted him to be perfect, with not an ounce more or less on his body. Pooja wants Randeep to look lean chiselled and sexy with the six pack abs for his role in Jism 2
Pooja’s instructions were clear. Randeep had to look sexy in the assassin’s role and hence Randeep is now seriously working hard and is concentrating on having the perfect figure for Jism 2.
We are sure when the film releases Randeep will be the next hunk of 2012 and is certain to give the girls a run for the money.

Tusshar Kapoor decided to take his on screen avatar a little too seriously and ended up in a minor scuffle. Tusshar Kapoor who plays the character of a Sardar in his forthcoming movie Chaar Din Ki Chandni decided to sport the look of the Sardar at the promotional event of the movie recently and ended up being pushed and shoved by the bouncers of his co-star Kulraj Randhawa..
Tusshar and Kulraj were to unveil the hoarding of their movie in Andheri, when he turned up in his get up of Pappi Sardar. The bouncers didn’t recognize him and pushed him thinking him to be a commoner who was trying to get close to Kulraj. Sources present at the event inform that “ Tusshar pushed him back and a minor scuffle ensued between the bouncer and him, until the bouncr told him tat he was the actor himself.”
Tusshar confirmed the story and blamed the organisers. “Since I play a sardar in the film, I went sporting that look. I was wearing dark glasses and people didn’t recognize me when I reached there. May be there was miscommunication on part of the organizers” says Tusshar.
If the recent buzz doing the rounds is to be given any attention then superstar and legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan is all set to host yet another season of his acclaimed television reality show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati.’
The sixth season of the show, which happens to be Indian adaptation of the British television game show ‘Who Wants to Be A Millionaire?’, will probably be on air around the middle of this year.
Siddharth Basu, producer of the show, confirmed the news to a reputed daily and was quoted as saying that he intends to work with Big B for the seventh season. Reportedly, he will shortly begin shooting for the promos of the show.
Though Bollywood filmmakers usually have an unwritten pact about not coming in each other’s way, especially when it comes to release of their films, it seems like all sense of brotherhood won’t really hold true this summer. This is evident from the fact that Sanjay Dutt has decided to take on Chopras head-on even though it was the latter’s film that has been finalised for release first.
“Arjun Kapoor would be making his debut with ISHAQZAADE which releases in May. Aditya Chopra has taken a personal interest in launching yet another newcomer in the lead after Ranveer Singh. He is very particular about ISHAQZAADE seeing good hype building for it but seems like Sanjay Dutt may well foil his plans. Now that he has decided to bring DEPARTMENT on the same date, it is going to be the clash of titans, in this case Dutt v/s Chopras”, informs our well placed source who has been closely following the progress of both the films.
In fact Ram Gopal Varma has declared DEPARTMENT plans for the first time after a lot of dilly-dallying and it is almost impossible that he would now make way for the Chopras.
“In this entire game of one upmanship, it would be Arjun Kapoor who would have to face the challenge. Now he would have to win audience for himself with so much of competition around”, comments an industry insider, “For a newcomer it is anyways a tough road ahead to make a first solid impression. Now with Dutt proving to be a challenge, especially after the appreciations he has gained ever since the release of AGNEEPATH, it is going to be some firecrackers at the box office.”
Nevertheless, ISHAQZAADE has its selling points, what with Habib Faisal (director of DO DOONI CHAAR) at the helm of affairs and the perky Parineeti Chopra (who has made a fantastic debut with LADIES V/S RICKY BAHL) as the leading lady. However with Amitabh Bachchan in a major role in DEPARTMENT and Rana Daggubati returning as well after DUM MAARO DUM, this is one clash that is all set to turn heads.
Katrina Kaif has been voted as the sexiest woman time and again and her perfect 10 figure is desired by millions.
Katrina on BIG CBS LOVE’s popular show India’s Glam Diva reveals the secret of her beauty. ”I try to exercise whenever I can, I do try to eat in moderation, I eat healthy food and sometimes I even eat a pizza, ice cream and cakes but that’s ok occasionally, as you should not deprive your body of anything”.
Though she started off as a model, Katrina never had a super skinny body like other models. She says, ”I have never been a skinny person. The designers would debate if I was too big to fit in their clothes and once they liked me in certain clothes they accepted it as well. I have learnt to be comfortable in my body.”
