The “Disco Dancer” returns with Housefull 2

Standard

Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty best-known for his dance acts in the 1980’s is soon to don his dancing shoes yet again for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 2.

The 61 year old legend will perform a special disco number in the comedy choreographed by filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan.

Confirms producer Sajid Nadiadwala “Yes,Mithunda will do a special song in the film –We are all huge fans of his and wanted him to recreate the same magic in Housefull 2”.

Talking about the song says MithunDa “It’s a special dance number. Farah and her brother Sajid love Hindi movies. They are almost like encyclopedias. I think Farah has put together some fun moves in the song, keeping my other popular songs in mind. I can promise you’ll be reminded of my Disco Dancer (1982) days.”

Talking about his dance moves, the actor admits he incorporates certain moves, popularized by his favorite artists, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson, in his act. “They were stunners. There’s a whole generation that was their fan. I’m one of them and if you find their moves in my dances, it’s natural,” he says

A treat to his fans, the actor who plays Riteish Deshmukh’s father in the comic riot will also be seen doing some action. “I’ve also been made to do some action scenes but overall, Housefull 2 is a comedy of errors of sorts. It’s hilarious.” adds MithunChakraborty.

Housefull 2 pays tribute to iconic on-screen fights of the 70’s

Standard

The infamous on-screen fights shared between veterans Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna in the late 70’s is soon to be recreated on screen in Eros International and Sajid Nadiadwala‘s Housefull 2.

The sequel to one of the biggest hits of the year 2010,will see lead actors Akshay Kumar and John Abraham exchange blows in an intense fight sequence executed by Action director Kawee Sirikhanaerut from Thailand action company -Seng Kawee of Rambo and Lara Croft fame.

And if sources are to be believed the famous Amitabh Bachchan-Vinod Khanna fights on-screen have served as reference points to the critical scenes shared by Akshay and John in the masala-entertainer.

Confirms director Sajid Khan “I have designed all the action sequences and used fight scenes between Amitabh and Vinod Khanna in 1970’s films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Parvarish and Khoon Pasina as inspiration”. Adding that “I haven’t used any special effects .Today, even a kid can point out fake stunt sequences. As kids, we’d count the number of punches Amitji and Vinod Khanna would throw so in the film I’ve given John and Akshay an equal number”.

Says producer Sajid Nadiadwala “ It was Sajid Khan’s dream to design such stunt sequences. And since both of us are crazy fans of Manmohan Desai and Prakash mehra, there was no debate when he created those scenes”.

Directed by Sajid Khan , starring an ensemble cast -Akshay Kumar, John Abraham ,Riteish Deshmukh, , Shreyas Talpade , Asin ,Zarine Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez ,Shazahn Padamsee , Rishi Kapoor ,Randhir Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty , Sajid Nadiadwala and Eros International’s Housefull 2 comes to a theatre near you April 5.th,2012.

It is already being much-talked about for its breezy, romantic comedy and its exotic beach locations including Dubai and Bangkok. “Will You Marry Me has been one the most memorable experiences I’ve had making a film. We have five different music directors who have all done an amazing job. I just hope the audiences enjoy the soundtrack just as much as we’ve enjoyed making it,” said director Aditya V Datt, talking about the music of the film.

“The essence of a film lies in its story, taut screenplay and treatment. Aditya has done a splendid job as a director and that is evident from the freshness of the film. We wanted the same freshness in the music,” avered producer Krishan Chaudhery.

“We have ensured that the film has the right production values. I am sure, this will percolate to the audiences,” enthused Bipin Shah.

Will You Marry Me? is a youthful story of three friends, Aarav (Shreyas Talpade), Rajveer (Rajeev Khandelwal), and Nikhil (Muzamil Ibrahim). All three boys have one thing in common; their love for their bachelorhood. They place a bet amongst themselves that whoever decides to marry first will lose a huge amount in shares held by them and their gang of friends. A few years later; Nikhil decides to marry the love of his life, Anjali (Tripta Prashar).

Rajveer and Aarav cannot believe that their best friend is getting married. However they put on a smile to attend his beach wedding in Dubai. During the wedding festivities, Rajveer and Aarav coincidentally fall for the bride’s best friend, Sneha (Mugdha Godse). To make matters worse in this love triangle, Nikhil is kidnapped by a powerful business tycoon (Paresh Rawal). From this point, everything goes haywire at the wedding celebrations, leading to hilarious situations. The film seems set to bring back the good old, clean romantic comedies back to the silver screen.
