Fitness enthusiasts from all walks of life will compete against each other at ‘Spinnathon 2011’. This year, the venue is at a larger scale than ever before, is Mumbai’s most beloved locations, at the edge of the Arabian Sea, under the tall coconut trees at the Priyadarshani Park (PDP) Nepeansea road.
The event, a brainchild of noted fitness expert Baqar Nasser who runs an indoor cycling studio in Mumbai and other parts of the country has been conducting the event for the past six years in the city. Mr.Yash Chopra, actor Neil Nitin Mukesh, Rohit Roy, the team Strings (Maqsud, Billal and Faisal Kapadia), Dr. Indu Shahani (Sheriff of Mumbai) and B.A.Desai (Former Minister) will be the guests of honor for the event.
Indoor Cycling, as propagated by Nasser, a former National cycling champion-turned-instructor is different from the usual gym workout and lets a person burn his calories in an interesting and creative manner.
Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh, who endorses the brand TOPSPIN, was also present at the event to boost the morale of the participants.
Prashant Shirsat, CMD-3rd Rock Entertainment, had a very interesting take on today’s event, as he says that today’s India is a health conscious India. And amazingly its not only the youths but also the senior citizens who are aware & conscious of being healthy & are working towards the same. ‘Spinnathon 2011’ is a totally different & an innovative event, Spinnathon is what i think will interest everyone who hears about it.
TOPSPIN founder & owner Baqar is a three-time All India University Cycling Champion and holder of 11 National titles, is visibly upbeat about the event. “Spinnathon to me is an event which promotes good health in an environment which is very addictive. I hope more and more people get addicted to this form of exercise”. “Indoor cycling is one of the most effective and energetic forms of exercise that has achieved success at an international level. In the coming years, Spinnathon would be an international event and will be held at many locations in India and abroad”.
