The Father by Christopher Hampton and Florian Zeller wins Best Adapted Screenplay. Director/screenwriter Florian Zeller accepted the award from Paris while his collaborator Christopher Hampton did so from London! The nominations for the Best Adapted Screenplay were Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, The Father, Nomadland, One Night in Miami and The White Tiger.

The Father is a 2020 drama film co-written and directed by Florian Zeller, in his directorial debut, based on his 2012 play Le Père. The film is a French-British co-production and stars Anthony Hopkins, Olivia Colman, Mark Gatiss, Imogen Poots, Rufus Sewell, and Olivia Williams. It follows an aging man who deals with his progressing memory loss. The film was acclaimed by critics, who lauded the performances of Hopkins and Colman, as well as the production values and its portrayal of dementia.
