Moitrayee Bhaduri is an author and screenwriter based in Mumbai and Kolkata. She loves reading crime-thrillers as much as she enjoys writing them. Her first book, The Sinister Silence introduced readers to the feisty ex-supercop, Mili Ray. Centered on the IT industry, the book is an edge-of-the-seat murder mystery that traces Mili Ray’s journey as a private detective through a complex case that poses new threats every time she inches closer to her goal. The book has received critical acclaim and rave reviews from booklovers, reviewers, and bloggers across the world. Moitrayee has been invited to speak on crime-fiction at literature festivals, bookclubs, educational institutions, and literary events such as the International Kolkata Book Fair, Khandala Lit Fest, Wonder Women, Litventure etc. She also conducts writing workshops for children and adults.

Moitrayee writes screenplays and has penned scripts for crime shows on TV. She also writes short stories and poems. Her story titled Goodbyes was featured in Bee Turns 3, an anthology published to celebrate the success of Bee Books Publishers. Moitrayee was also invited to write an empowering, true story for Make It Happen, a collection of inspiring stories by people living their dream, edited by Sanket Pai, a certified Leap Ahead Coach and Tedx Speaker.

Moitrayee has a background in content, communications, and Information Technology. After working with leading organizations such as IBM, Deloitte, Oracle etc. in diverse writing and people-managerial roles for over 14 years, Moitrayee decided to quit her lucrative corporate career and become a full-time writer. An alumna of Loreto College and Jadavpur University, she also has a certificate in creative writing from the University of Oxford. She is passionate about music, likes reviewing books and films, and loves dogs.
