Over the last few years, the country has seen a paradigm shift with changing attitudes in regards to personal wellness and intimate products. From the initial scepticism that ThatsPersonal saw during its launch days, the company now enjoys widespread acceptance from a versatile audience. While the international market is more receptive to personal intimacy and wellness products, India isn’t lagging too far behind. The sexual wellness market in India is said to grow at a CAGR of 35 percent over the next five years.

Despite the social stigma that still surrounds the market Indian audiences are beginning to see this sector as essential and not just something frivolous. The Indian adult market was pegged at Rs 2500 crores in 2015, and will be a worth a whopping Rs 10,000 crores in 2020, and has seen unique customers from over 961 Indian cities and towns.

While the metros dominate the charts with the highest number of sales, Mumbai being the foremost, we have seen a steady increase of awareness in tier 2 and 3 cities.While tier 2 cities have seen larger growth, tier 3 cities see a larger basket size per order.  In the top rank among the tier 2 cities are Jaipur, Surat and Lucknow.


Apart from the growth in these cities, a few statistics from the top performers.

·         Gujarat – 17% of total adult game sales

·         Goa – 14% of nations total purchase of massage oils

·         Bihar – 23% of all purchases from the state are male performance enhancers

·         Kerala – 76% of orders includes condoms among other products

In the battle of the sexes, men and women both hold their own with 59% men buyers and 41% women buyers, however women hold higher purchasing power have a 17% larger basket size than men on average. The product that wins with both the sexes arelubricants, the highest purchased product from the website at 20%, second to none.

Proving the adage, that age is just a number, right, the website has seen a range of customers from young adults to senior citizens buying consistently. The age bracket of 18 to 24 sees the largest percentage of self-pickup. The most number of unique users and repeat clients are from the 25 – 34 age group. The segment that has seen the largest growth from the previous financial year, are the 35 to 44 year olds, and we also see the largest average order value from this group as well. Women definitely get naughty after forty, and are the majority consumers in the 45 and above category.

  • The period around March is the time of the year when India sees the lowest purchases of adult products!

Jai Gangaajal Prepared Priyanka Chopra For Quantico!

Priyanka Chopra has won hearts across the globe by essaying the role of smart and agile, FBI Agent Alex Parrish in American TV show Quantico however, not many know that playing a badass cop in Prakash Jha’s Jai Gangaajal, helped her immensely to prepare for her character in ABC’s crime-thriller.

Priyanka shot for Jai Gangaajal right before she started working on Quantico and playing SP Abha Mathur in the movie, helped her get into the skin of her character Alex Parrish.

At the film’s trailer launch, Prakash Jha jokingly said, “Priyanka Chopra has become much in demand in the US and the FBI has also recruited her. They contacted me and told me to train her for the role so, we gave her a crash course (laughs) and look how proud she has made us all.”

Priyanka agreed with him and added, “He is actually right. Because I did this film right before Quantico, it prepared me to play an FBI trainee and it became easier for me to work on that show. I can very happily say that I have been trained by the IPS for Quantico.”

Written and directed by Prakash Jha, produced by Prakash Jha Productions and Play Entertainment and co-produced by Milind Dabke, Jai Gangaajal revisits the dusty heartland of Central India and examines the society–police relationship. Starring Priyanka Chopra, the movie is all set to release on 4th March, 2016. Jai Gangaajal is not a prequel or a sequel to Ajay Devgn starrer Gangaajal but is a fresh story.

The finalists showcased their collections through a fashion show to an elite panel of judges which includes Actor  Soha Ali Khan, leading Fashion Designer Narendra Kumar, eminent fashion photographer Prasad Naik, Editor of India edition of Cosmopolitan magazine Nandini Bhalla and Founder and Chairperson of Svatantra Micro Finance Ms Ananyashree Birla. Also present was the elegant Mrs. Rajashree Birla with her daughter in law, Mrs. Neerja Birla. Cutting for a frame worthy family photo, the three generation of ladies from the Birla family were all smiles.

The winner was Mr. Riturana Deori from Ahmedabad, the 1st runner up was Mr. Nitin Gupta from Ahmedabad and the second runner up was Ms. Sagarika Joshi from Bangalore. The winners were selected based on aesthetics, design, fluidity and functionality of creations. The fashion presentation was choreographed by Shy Kalra.

Upcoming urban thriller, a Marathi film, “702 Dixit’s” will be releasing on 15th January 2016. Film is produced by Rohit Jail & Prashant Umbrani, under the Production House banner – ‘9 Star Prime Entertainment’.  Film is edited and directed by Shankh Rajyadhyaksha.

The story of the film revolves around Kaavya and Yash Dixit and their daughter Reva. A young & happy couple with blooming careers. The Dixits get into a serious problem because of their house help/baby sitter Asha who had been recently hired to take care of Reva. Since all the circumstantial evidences point against Yash, he gets arrested and their perfect family life gets totally disturbed.

What is the real truth behind the mystery? Is Yash really innocent which he claims or is there more to it? Has Yash misbehaved with Asha with lust is a hidden cause? Were Yash and Kaavya really a happy couple or was it a false portray?

Away from the hustle and bustle of a stressful life, a trip to Adlabs Imagica comes as a welcome change. A bunch of media guys along-with some bloggers were invited to experience the launch of the BEST AC bus service to the entertainment venue.

A perfectly organised trip (thanks to the pro-active initiative from Bhagyashree of CB World Entertainment, Adfactors PR executive Omkar and the Adlabs staff Suraj Rathod) ended with a lot of fun memories. A special mention about Suraj who ensured that we got excellent service and felt at home.


The highlights if you are visiting Adlabs Imagica:

Don’t miss the 4D show and also the ‘I for India’ show. They are worth the trip and leave lovely memories about the place.

The film has a unique pairing of Randeep and Kajal which has extensively been shot in Malaysia. Bajirao Mastani is all set to hit the screens on 18th Dec and Deepak we hear did not want to miss the opportunity of getting his film’s trailer attached to this magnum opus film.
There were many films which were eyeing to get their trailer attached, but it was Deepak who made his films trailer to the final cut.

Sunny Deol steps out for stuntmen at Point Break screening!



The death-defying stunts in the Hollywood action thriller wowed the stunt teams in a special pre-release screening for them attended by action hero Sunny Deol

A special pre-release screening of the Hollywood thriller Point Break which boasts of the most high-octane stunts ever seen on the big screen was organised especially for Bollywood’s stuntmen and action teams. Making it all the more special for them was Bollywood’s action hero Sunny Deol, who was also present to acknowledge and appreciate the contribution the stuntmen have been making to the industry.


The stuntmen were clearly thrilled to be a part of the rare gesture and also admitted to be bowled over by the extreme death-defying stunts performed for the first time ever in a film.

Stunt director Aejaz Gulab (director of Ab Tak Chhappan 2 and the stunt choreographer for several blockbusters) shared that he was amazed and blown over by the stunts shown in the film. He was especially thrilled with the death-defying action sequence in which three motorcyclists rob a diamond-sorting facility in the sky-rise of Mumbai and escape by bursting from its 100-storey windows, dropping gems down to the slums of Mumbai as they parachute away.


Point Break has been garnering worldwide recognition for capturing the most daring athleticism, stunts and action sequences all performed by elite athletes representing the world’s best in class in the world of extreme adventure sports.


Directed by Ericson Core (Best known for his work as a DoP in Fast and Furious as well as directing Invincible) the film is a remake of the 1991 cult hit Point Break starring Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves and revolves around a young FBI agent, Johnny Utah (Luke Bracey) who infiltrates a team of thrill-seeking elite athletes – led by the charismatic Bodhi (Edgar Ramirez). SAB TV launches a new office comedy ‘Sahib, Biwi Aur Boss’

What happens when one lie spins into a web of lies? With an intent to help, one ends up creating series of troubles for oneself… SAB TV’s new office comedy, Sahib, Biwi Aur Boss will showcase all the confusion that could be. As the title suggests, the story will revolve around these three central characters – A husband, wife and her boss. Produced by Sanjay Kohli the show is all set to roll out on the 21st December, at 22:00 hrs with Vipul Roy as Sahib, Mugdha Chapekar as the Biwi and Resham Tipnis as the Boss.

The plot revolves around Sunny/ Balma Pandey aka Sahib, Vipul Roy and Anisha aka Biwi, Mugdha Chapekar, a happily married couple with an unusual situation to face. Anisha wants to pitch in for house expenses since Sunny is currently a stay at home husband who has signed on a Bhojpuri movie which is yet to take off. She gets selected in a well-established company without realizing that they only hire unmarried individuals. In desperation, she lies about her marital status which leads to a series of hit and misses in the show.

While on one hand, her boss, Mandodari, Resham Tipnis wants to hook her up with her nephew, on the other hand her husband Sunny dons a senior officer avatar as Balma Pandey and starts working in the same office to protect his wife. Mandodari’s nephew, Vinod, played by Dhruv Singh always tries his level best to impress Anisha and the boss is busy playing the cupid. Sunny as Balma Pandey always attempts to create a barrier between Dhruv and Anisha. If this cross connection of love wasn’t enough, there’s another twist, Mandodari also starts developing a soft corner for Balma Pandey.

Will Anisha be able to balance her personal and professional life? Did Sunny go slightly over-board in love? We will have to wait and watch!

Boman’s changed equation with Varun Dhawan!



Varun Dhawan and Boman Irani who will be seen sharing screen space in Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale actually go back much longer than their new equation as co-stars. Boman’s son Kayoze was Varun’s co-actor in his debut film Student of The Year, in which Boman had even made a guest appearance. And from having being called as ‘Uncle’ or ‘Sir’ by Varun for the past few years now, it was a feat of sorts for Boman to ease Varun into treating his friend’s dad as a colleague. “I’ve known Varun as a son’s friend and he has always been very respectful towards me as Kayoze’s dad. But as co-actors, I consciously wanted to blur the lines and get him to feeling comfortable around me as a friend and a co-actor and not as an ‘uncle’. Of course, Varun still shows me the kind of respect he always has but it’s a more relaxed equation we now share,” says Boman.

The actor elaborates, “I really think that while it’s good to be serious about our work, it’s not such a good idea to be so serious about ourselves. I wanted Varun to enjoy the process and not inhibit the performance because of me being ‘sir’ for him. So, not just Varun, I feel that it’s important to make your co-actors feel comfortable and get into the space of friends. It really helps.” Well, so that’s the secret of Boman getting along with all his co-actors then!

Juhi Chawla took riding lessons for CND  




Juhi Chawla returns to entertain the audiences with her infectious smile with her upcoming film Chalk N Duster. The veteran actress apparently took riding lessons for the movie. She last rode a scooty in Yes Boss.


Reportedly the makers of the film decided to have a different yet realistic poster of the film that had Juhi Chawla riding with Shabana Azmi on a scooty. Juhi Chawla took riding lessons in the compound of her building for a couple of days till she could balance properly on the vehicle.


Juhi shares, ‘I’d almost forgotten how to ride a bike…then one day my business manager Preet Kaur who is also also the executive producer of my film lands below my building on her scooty & we spent one day getting the balance correct. She left her scooty parked in my apartment. The following days I would take rounds around my building riding.’


‘For almost a week I would ride the scooty till I got the hang of it. My kids, family & staff would be wondering what was I upto. It was so much fun & quite exciting,’ laughs Juhi.

Amole Gupte to write and direct a biopic on the life of Indian Badminton champ, Saina Nehwal

Great news for all sports fans! A biographical sports drama based on the life of Indian badminton champ Saina Nehwal is in the offing.

Mumbai-based Front Foot Pictures Pvt Ltd, a new age content creation  company, has acquired the rights to make a biopic on the life of India’s ace shuttler, Saina Nehwal. The acclaimed writer-actor-director, Amole Gupte has been roped in to write and direct the much-awaited film.

Talking about the story of the film, Sujay Jairaj, one of the directors of Front Foot Pictures Pvt Ltd reveals, “It’s going to be a very inspirational story, which will boost the entire country. It is a story of a current sports star and so both the younger and the older generation can relate to it.”

Sujay and his team, along with Amole Gupte, recently met Saina Nehwal and her family at the Nehwal residence in Hyderabad and spent a warm afternoon with them. 

Talking about the meeting, which lasted for nearly three hours. Amole says, “It was like meeting a goddess and her family who are so excited about the upcoming biopic. This film is going to trace Saina’s pulsating journey on her way to the top of the sports pyramid.”

The writer-actor-director is all praises for the Nehwal family. “What gracious hosts, the Nehwals! The hand that rocked Saina’s cradle fed hot hot parathas, delectable sabzi and dahi- the flavor of which I have carried all the way back to Mumbai” he says, overwhelmed by the warmth of the Nehwal household.”

How is it going to be different than other sports biopics? “How many times have we encountered either a male or a female Indian get prime ranking in a world sport? None- except Saina Nehwal. That makes it different, doesn’t it? It’s a story of a ‘tigress beti’, ‘princess beti’ who has set fire to the badminton court with her prowess like no one else before. The nation needs to know the story of the ‘World number 1 beti’- an icon for the young and the old, for a long time to come,” says Amole.

INTERVIEW with Neil Pattrick Harris, who plays Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother, to air weekdays 8,30 pm from Monday 14 Dec on Romedy NOW


Q: Barney’s become probably the most popular character on the show. Did you have any idea that he would end up taking center stage when you first embarked on that?


A: Well, he’s the most extreme character on the show. So, it’s probably easier to write big punch lines for him. The writers can set up a situation that’s more human and then have everyone comment on it. So, when you have a character like Barney in that mix, he’s going to say the most overt and extreme response. So, in turn, that gets the most reaction.


Q: Onto “How I Met Your Mother”, do you hear people on the street repeating Barney’s catch phrases, suit up or legendary?


A: Yah, I’m getting a fair amount of those recently, actually. It’s kind of nice. I went to the Magic Castle, this private club here in LA the other day. I got a lot of Barney’s, high fives and suit ups. So, it’s odd to walk around and have people assume you are the character and not the person.


Q: So what makes Barney tick?


A: Single-malt scotch. McCallum’s 18 – that’s probably what makes Barney tick.


  1. How similar are you to Barney then?


  1. In many ways I’m wildly different but in many ways I’m similar. I think I’m probably equally as sardonic and always kind of looking for a joke, but I’m much more settled down than he is. Also, he probably gets more girls than I do (laughs). But I have to live vicariously through him.


Q: Could you be best buds with Barney if he was a real guy?


A: Yeah, he’d amuse me. I have a lot of eccentric friends in my group. I got to do a musical called Rent that was about 12 or 13 years ago. I spent the majority of my time with an amazing, eclectic, gypsy group of people and I came to the conclusion that those are the people I like to hang out with. You can hang out with average, boring folk at work. I like to surround myself with court jesters.


Q: In 2010 you were named one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People, how much of that was to do with Barney?


A:  I really couldn’t answer that, I don’t know. I think being on a weekly television show certainly keeps you in the public sector more than if I was just doing sporadic work. It seems like that came to be because of the random other things that were happening at the same time with hosting gigs and the show—I don’t really know how to answer that. I guess the juxtaposition of who I am in real life and who I play on the show might have had something to do with it maybe. I don’t know. Karan Mehra shoots underwater for ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’

Karan Mehra aka Naitik from one of India’s longest running television shows, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ was visibly happier while shooting recently, the reason being that he got to shoot underwater, for the very first time.

The sequence revolved around Karan Mehra searching for his on-screen wife Hina Khan aka Akshara where he dives into a lake to find and rescue the love of his reel life. Karan admits that it was a memorable experience shooting the sequence, “In spite of facing a few hurdles like the water being dirty and its temperature fluctuating, we did manage to get the shots we wanted. It is rare to have underwater shoots for a daily soap in India and also, it is the first time that we have shot underwater in the 7 years long journey of YRKKH so I was really looking forward to shoot this sequence.”

The episode is already on air and the trailer of the episode had generated quite a stir. Needless to say, the fans have loved the episode and have flooded him with compliments on social media.

Nisha’s Early Bird Christmas Gift to underprivileged Mumbai Kids

Singer and model Nisha Rawal has always had a soft corner for the underprivileged children. This time around she took it upon herself to create awareness about the children of The Vatsalya Foundation. Her stride to amass support for these bravehearts did not stop at just awareness. With the support of Ketto, a crowd funding platform, Nisha has found a way for people to donate for the upliftment of these children. With 10 days to go for the deadline, the fund has already crossed a handsome target of Rs 1,00,000.

Nisha left no stone unturned in getting this message across to people. The cover song artist Nisha, brought her passion for art and philanthropy together to get this noble cause out there. Nisha along with launching the Ketto fund campaign also releases a heartwarming cover song, aptly titled “Choti si Asha”, encapsulating the dreams and hopes of these marginalized children.

The Song was shot at The Vatsalya foundation and featured the children from foundation in the video. It was directed by none other than television star and Nisha’s Husband, Karan Mehra.  Extending the support to this noble cause, legendary choreographer Terence Lewis also featured in the video and was seen doing a lot ofmasti with the children. The legendary singer and producer duo Meet Bros helped bring this soulful song together with their experience and guidance.

Talking about the success of the campaign, “My whole idea about the Ketto campaign was that funds are important but awareness is more important. We wanted more and more people to know about the hardships of these children. Thus the song, I am already pursuing music as a vocation and I felt featuring Vatsalya in my second cover song will give exposure to the work and efforts put in by the foundation. I am glad that we achieved the target and there is some more time to go.”

Talking about the success of the fund raiser, Actor Kunal Kapoor who is also the Co-Founder of Ketto said, “Nisha’s fund raiser on Ketto has been a phenomenal success. We reached our goal well ahead of time and over shot the target too. I was personally kicked about this fundraiser because it was not just about getting the money, Nisha got the children involved in the venture by featuring them in the video. Seen as a peculiar and rather uptight mother – Mrs. Fonseca, is veteran Bollywood actor Sarika who makes one of her rare appearances on the small screen in &TV’s upcoming episode of Darr Sabko Lagta Hai. Titled ‘Carol’ the episode is directed by Soumik Sen, best known for his film Gulaab Gang. Produced by Priti Sinha and Vinay Sinha, Darr Sabko Lagta Hai airs every weekend, Sat-Sun at 9:00PM only on &TV.

Darr Sabko Lagta Hai, the latest offering from &TV, has changed the way the audience perceives the Horror genre on television. An episodic series with Bollywood Superstar and the Queen of Fear Bipasha Basu as the host, Darr Sabko Lagta Hai boasts of an ensemble cast week on week directed by the finest film makers who ensure a smoldering viewing experience.

Director Soumik Sen says, “For the role of Mrs. Fonseca we couldn’t think of anyone other than Sarikaji to play the part! Sarikaji’s internalizes her character so well which makes her performance look effortless.” Talking about her role in the upcoming episode,Sarika says, “Preeti and Namrata, the producers of the show are like family and when they approached me for the show, I immediately said yes. The fact that Soumik Sen was the director excited me all the more. Soumik is a wonderful director and working with him on the show has been an absolute pleasure. I have always been open to horror and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.”

The story ‘Carol’ is set in the picturesque Goa with Sarika playing a typical Goan lady Mrs. Fonseca – owner of a homestay bungalow. The arrival of three young house guests gives rise to a series of unexplainable eerie events that are unimaginable!

‘Antar-Agni’ by Ujjawal Dubey presented his exclusive collection at the Van Heusen + GQ Fashion Nights which is a classic blend of chic and boho. Strutting the ramp with flamboyance was  Ayushmann Khurrana donning a cross over black shirt with a grey t-shirt underneath and black low pleated bottoms.


The collection was seen incorporating Ujjawal’s core elements in the design philosophy adding nuance details, smart cuts and relaxed silhouettes. Colours like dark blue, navy, black and light grey have been used with clean, sharp silhouettes and fluidity in the collection. Being young and dynamic, the collection added a cutting edge to the overall look. The collection also sported traces of the iconic wallpaper print from the youthful 70’s toned down with a dark palette of navy and a pop of yellow.

It was an eloquent start to Day 2 of Van Heusen + GQ Fashion Nights. Renowned designer Rajesh Pratap Singh showcased his Autumn/Winter 2015 collection that combined modern with traditional in an understated design aesthetic.

Drawing inspiration from his Indian roots to craft artisanal garments that stand apart, the collection was built with fabrics woven on vintage hand looms with faultlessly clean lines, careful detailing and international silhouettes. Giving the presentation a global appeal yet keeping it passionately Indian, woven stainless steel and copper wires in satin weaves, assymetric checks and stripes in natural indigo dyed gingham and window pane checks in wool ikats were used.  The collection brought about a fresh breath of change with draped tunics replacing the classic men’s shirts, androgynous oversized women’s suits and jackets in woven metal. Also, convertible lapels and asymmetry was applied freely to all the classic Indian silhouettes.
