Film Review – Lai Bhaari (Marathi) Rating 4

Riteish creates history in Marathi Cinema.

Riteish Dehmukh and the producers of Lai Bhaari have set the standards of Marathi Cinema to a peak. The production values are mind-boggling. The direction by Nishikant Kamat is superfluous.

Pandharpur has been shot in a magnanimous manner, which has never been captured before. The symbolism of Lord Vithobha with the story is touching and brilliantly blended.

lai bhaari posterRiteish Deshmukh has proved once again that he is committed to quality cinema when it comes to his foray in the Marathi film industry. From a suave bureaucrat to the typical tapori look, Riteish does justice to the characters he plays.

TV actor Sharad Kelkar in his villainous avtar gives goose-bumps everytime he makes an entry on the screen. Radhika Apte and Aaditi Pohankar play Riteish’s love interests but it is Radhika who steals the show with her twinkling eyes and typical art of playing to the gallery. The icing on the cake besides Riteish, the director and the producers (Jitendra Thackeray, Shalini Thackeray, Amey Khopkar, Genelia Deshmukh), it is Tanvi Azmi who gives a restrained yet effortless performance.

For more about the story of the film, you have to watch it to enjoy the milestone which has been created by the producers Jitendra Thackeray, Shalini Thackeray, Amey Khopkar, Genelia Deshmukh.

A big pat on the backs of the producers for starting a revolution in Marathi Cinema.
