The week started with a bang of fashion and style and unveiled the current and grandiose fashion collection. Mod’Art International’ the French Fashion School is the sister concern of Mod ‘art Paris, a premium Parisian fashion school, hosted their Annual Fashion Show with their most dazzling collections by their ardent students. The breathtaking assortment was brought to display in the Annual Graduating Fashion Show on the 13th of May 2014 in the thick of serenity and tranquility of Hotel Sea Princess.  The models walked the runway in the inventive and crisp collections designed by the students themselves. The presentation gives the students a platform to put forward their creative energies and a glimpse of the real fashion world.

Kannada’s latest version of Silk Smitha, Kavita Radheshyam who plays the main lead in Faisal Saif’s bilingual “Main Hoon Rajinikanth” recently revealed her Bold and Raunchy look of her character from the film on her Twitter.

According to sources, Kavita will enact the role of late sex siren Silk Smitha in the movie. But Kavita had something else to reveal. “I am playing the lead in Main Hoon Rajinikanth. This role is of a high class Sex Worker who get’s a chance to grab 5 Crores hard cash at a point. And everyone runs after me. This is my second film with Faisal Saif and i am very excited to be a part of it. Apart from Kavita Radheshyam’s Eroticism, You will also witness the comical side of her in this film.”

Faisal Saif’s Main Hoon Rajinikanth recently had South Indian actors visiting the film’s set including Sandalwood queen Ragini Dwivedi.

“Ragini Dwivedi and i had worked in the latest released Kannada film Ragini IPS. I was honored when Ragini tagged me with Silk Smitha’s title. It was really a great pleasure seeing a busy star like Ragini Dwivedi on our film’s set.” added Kavita.

Apart from Main Hoon Rajinikanth, Kavita is busy with her Kannada films and another Hindi film which is based on Homosexuality act 377.

This film starring Val Lauren, Alicia Minshew, Gulshan Grover, Archanaa Guptaa, Ankit Bhardwaj etc is Written & Produced by Odisha born Solila Parida, who lives in New York.

Rajesh K Rathi (Director) DOTH

For a long time Rajesh Rathi has been Associate Director to late film maker Jagmohan Mundhra. Besides, he has directed over 30 Telefilms, Ad films, Docu dramas and Short films. Making a mark on the International scene with his silver screen debut is indeed a big achievement for him.

The film has already received ‘Best Foreign Film’ award at ‘LA Femme International Film Festival’ in Los Angeles. It also received critical acclaim in ‘Sedona International Film Festival’ and ‘Macon Film Festival’ in USA.

Although the complete post production of the film was done in America, Rathi has recently recorded some background score for selected scenes in Mumbai with Udbhav Ojha especially for Cannes. Umesh Tarkaswar has also recorded a folk music for the film.

Tim Gill, the DoP is from US and Jitendra Mishra, the Associate Producer is from Delhi.

‘Desires of the Heart’ is a love story which begins in America and culminates in India. It has an interesting suspense element woven in the story. There are also important scenes in the film dated back 180 years in India. Almost 60% of the film shot in India

(Rajasthan) is directed by Rajesh. It was very challenging for him to shoot the Indian portion of the film in a 20 days tight schedule with a mix Cast & Crew.

After an impressive start in Hollywood, Rathi has big hopes in Bollywood too.

Bollywood film review – Hawaa Hawaai Rating – 4.5

Amole Gupte’s Hawaa Hawaai is an award winning film. Must watch.

Amole Gupte has definitely proved that he is a director to reckon with. His latest venture Hawaa Hawaai is gripping, inspiring and touches the heart strings for sure. He has managed to creatively blend a run-of-the-mill story with such finesse and brilliant performances that one is thrilled with the final product.

For a one-liner, the film is about a chai-wala boy who turns out to be a champion and achieves his dreams. Partho Gupte is brilliant and enacts the lead role as a seasoned actor. Saqib Saleem lends his cuteness and raw appeal as the skating coach. The bunch of kids who play Partho’s friends are scene-stealers. TV actor Anuj Sachdeva as Saqib’s brother lends support and charismatic appeal to the film. Theatre actor Makrand Desphande steals the show with his miniscule yet prominent role. His wife shares the limelight with a sterling performance.

The film keeps you gripped to your seats. The lyrics are soothing, meaningful and take the story forward. Amole Gupte has a winner for sure.

Watch this film with your kids.

Bollywood film review – Koyelaanchal Rating – 1.5

Lost in the Mines!

If you are expecting Koyelaanchal to be anywhere close to Gangs of Wasseypur, you will be in for a rude shock . This Vinod Khanna, Suniel Shetty, Vipinno starrer directed by Asshu Trikha starts on a good note but fails to deliver an engrossing tale.

The film which tackles the coal mafia in Dhanbad has some excellent shot taking and brilliant actors. Somehow the script fails to retain your attention with an overdose of violence, gun-shots and action scenes. The plot takes an entirely different dimension post the interval.

Vinod Khanna’s characterisation built-up is extensive, while Suniel Shetty’s role is subdued and lacks the punch. Newcomer Vipinno stands out with his taut physique and tough looks. Newcomer Rupali Krishnarao as the hero’s love interest adds the glamour element.

Except for the dialogues and the amazing outdoor locations, the script has nothing great to talk about. The film fails to appeal although the production value are good.

Casting director Kunal M Shah has managed to imbibe fresh talented actors who fit the roles like a glove.

But all this is in vain when the film fails to deliver.

Bollywood film review – Manjunath Rating – 2

A biopic which fails to appeal

 

The film is based on the true story of Manjunath Shanmugam — an Indian Oil employee who was brutally murdered for standing up to the oil mafia in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. However the treatment meted out by director Sandeep Varma fails to retain the audiences interest. What could have been made as a taut, gripping tale has a slow start right upto the interval. A strong story which created headlines and was on discussion boards is poorly executed. Such stories have to be an inspiration for the youth of the country to speak-up and fight back against the wrong-doings in the country.

 

Debutant Sasho Satish Saarthy plays Manjunath Shanmugam with much conviction. However, scenes created to make him a loveable person fail to make an impact. Seasoned actors like Seema Biswas and Yashpal Sharma do a commendable job. The music tracks in the film fail to impress on screen although they are wonderful renditions when heard.

IIM, the educational institute which created a furore to seek justice is not given much importance in the climax of the film. Divya Dutta’s cameo could have been explored to different dimensions by cutting shot some scenes and making the story more gripping.

One would expect the audiences to start thinking after watching this true-life tale, but the director’s efforts are lost since he took the film on a totally different tangent.
