‘Bandstand music’ lovers can enjoy the gigs free-of-cost on November 28, 30th & 1st December at Horniman Circle Gardens & Carter Road (Bandra-W), Bandra Amphitheater, respectively
Ray Ban celebrates its 75th Anniversary with the grand finale of the Ray Ban ‘Never Hide Sounds’, a nationwide hunt for the best bands in the country. Five finalist winners of this hunt will perform on Saturday, December 1st, at Bandra Amphitheater, Mumbai on a platform that encourages upcoming music talent in the country and provides them an opportunity to be heard.
The gig i.e the Finale starts from 4pm Onwards and is open to the general public and ‘Bandstand music’ aficionados’. Performing at the grand finale along with the five finalists will be two of India’s eminent bands Indus Creed and Parikrama, which is scheduled for Saturday (1st Dec). The five finalists selected from over 145 bands in the country are ‘The Modern Mafia’ (Mumbai), ‘Street Stories’ (Shillong), ‘83 miles per hour’ (Chennai), ‘The News’ (Bangalore) and ‘The Uncertainty Principle’ (Delhi). Apart, the gig would be hosted by Meiyang Chang (from Indian Idol Fame).
As a run up to the grand finale, Ray Ban has also taken up the initiative of reviving the ‘Bandstand music culture’ in Mumbai, and is organizing open music performances for Mumbaikars. Some of the bands that will perform are ‘Dischordian,’ at Horniman Circle Gardens on Wednesday, November 28th (between 4.30pm-6pm), followed by ‘BLEK’ and ‘The Lightyears Explode,’ playing at Carter Road (Bandra-W) on Friday, November 30th for over two hours (6pm-8.30pm). The same is open to ‘Bandstand music lovers’, free of cost.
Talking about the event, Marketing Head, Luxottica India Eyewear Pvt Ltd, Amitabh Sehdev says “Music is an integral part of culture and lifestyle of the youth today, and Ray-Ban Never Hide Sounds has given young undiscovered rock bands a platform to showcase their talent to the world. The response has been overwhelming and we are all eagerly awaiting the grand finale in Mumbai.”
