Now that Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming film KAHAANI is nearing its release, it is being widely raved for its subject, the way the filmmaker executed it, the scale of the project and of course the presence of most-sought after lady of B-town, Vidya Balan. But one hardly knows how much Sujoy had to struggle and toil for the project to take shape. Though he has worked with the likes of Amitabh Bachchan,Riteish DeshmukhBoman Irani and some topnotch producers in the past, making KAHAANI happen wasn’t a cakewalk for Sujoy.

Sujoy shares about the hardships he went through for KAHAANI, “It was a very tough film to make. There were a lot of things which were against us. Initially there were no takers for KAHAANI. The film was not ready to get finance.”

Ask him if he compromised on the making of KAHAANI considering the budget and he says, “We didn’t compromise on any of the film’s aspects but we took lot of favour. It was a huge struggle but we managed.”

While financial backing was an issue, but Sujoy disagrees with the fact that Vidya was ever apprehensive about doing the film. He says, “In fact Vidya Balan has been my biggest support for KAHAANI. She was never apprehensive about doing the film.”

Sujoy Ghosh’s KAHAANI is all set to release on 9th March 2012.
