As is the known fact, Abbas-Mustan directed PLAYERS at quite a few exotic locations with North Pole being one of them. While for the huge cast of the film (Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol, Bipasha Basu, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Sonam Kapoor) it was nothing short of a paid holiday, there was special consideration for the crew members. For the hundred plus crew that was working on the film, it was just another day thousands of miles away from their homes. This means that even though the cast members could afford to have fun and relax during the breaks, it was always going to be one hectic outing for the crew.

“Yes, we had crew members taking care of light, sets, sound etc. and unfortunately not many out of them could afford the kind of clothes and shoes that the stars were wearing. They had to be kept warm as well and we asked Line producers for a solution,” Abbas continues.

A solution was well in hand as there was local army uniform made available for all crew members. Since it was made of stuff that could stand extreme cold and bad weather, the crew too could manage to breathe easy, well literally!

“It started seeming that there was one whole army working on the film,” laughs Mustan, “Everyone was wearing identical clothes along with long boots while shooting in the snow. So while on one side we had rooms that resembled prison cells (the entire cast was put into small rooms since there were no five star facilities available at the North Pole), on the other end there was this entire crew resembling an army. Guess it was just the right mix of crime and patrolling in place.”

Also starring Vinod Khanna, Sikandar Kher and Omi Vaidya, PLAYERS with music by Pritam releases all over on 6th January.
