This is definitely not Tishu’s (director Tigmanshu Dhulia) best film. We have seen better work from him before. In fact, his previous release Shaghird was more crispy and had better twists and turns. The film partakes the same old story-line of an infidel husband, a neurotic wife who has flings and the typical James Hardley Chase playboy who falls into the trap of the wife.
Although the punch lines and dialogues in the film get a smile on your face, they lack the appeal of the masses. Everything seems to be underplayed with no heights of tension being created. The scenes have the same flavour except for the rustic, virgin outdoors which have been captured beautifully.
One more film which had some brilliant promos and teasers and the zing missing in the final product. Not gripping enough to make a noise about.
Jimmy Shergil – restrained, composed and intense in just the right doses.
Rating – 3/5
Randeep Hooda – a tailor-made role which just required him to be himself. His raw sexual quotient of being someone who knows the effect he has on women is flawless and truly evident. Despite his styling, he manages to excel.
Rating – 4/5
Mahi Gill – Looks beautiful in bits. However she could have taken her Meena Kumari kinda character to higher levels. Even in moments where she has to go nutty, she failed to impress. The maturity on her face shows.
Rating – 2.5/5
Vipin Sharma – quite a stealing performace in his unusual avatar. One would haven’t expected Vipin to do justice to this role knowing his previous films. He has cleverly manipulated not over-playing the character and yet standing out with his subtle nuances and vague get-up. An actor to watch out for.
Rating – 4/5
Deepal Shaw – stands out in her dehati look and has some great punch lines. Finally she has proved that an item girl can definitely act and stand out from established actors no matter what the length of your role is.
Some hummable numbers which could have caught on the audiences fancy if enough money was plugged on promoting it. Song picturisations have been average since the production budget was limited.

At the launch of Bigg Boss yesterday at Mehboob Studio, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt were in their true elements. Although Salman was extempore in hosting the event, one found Sanju baba lost at times with his lines. Both the stars surely knew how to pull Colors and Bigg Boss staff Ashwini’s leg on stage.
The event gave an insight into Bigg Boss’s new theme titled Double Vaat, primarily hinting at the 2 stars who will be hosting the show. Obviously the hidden agenda being that one expects more dhamaal this time to upsurge the TRPs from their earlier seasons. Sallu and Sanju did re-iterate that all the news about their so-called fight was media driven. They also poked fun at film director David Dhawan whom they would like to be in the Bigg Boss house in the last few weeks. Primarily coz they want him to lose some weight and the Bigg Boss contestant are low on their food allowance in the last stages of the show.
No info on the contestants was divulged but yes they did confess that there are bigger names involved this time. Salman will definitely rock the show since he is a true performer. However looking at Sanju’s poor performance, it is doubtful if he can garner more moolah with other shows after this.
Looking forward to the new season of Bigg Boss. Spice sells for sure and this show has made overnight stars of all the previous contestants in the earlier seasons.

Trust actors to go to any lengths to get into their character. And Ranbir Kapoor is not one to be left behind!
The actor, who will soon be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Rockstar’ actually lived with a Jatt family to experience their lifestyle as part of his character study!
In the film, Ranbir plays ‘Janardan Jakhar’, the youngest son of a traditional Jatt family and therefore it was important for him to pick up their mannerisms to put up a convincing act.
Says a source from the unit, “Imtiaz and Ranbir spent an entire day with a Jatt family based in the outskirts of Delhi…they would hang around with the young boys of the family, sleep on the cots, eat out at the local dhabas and enjoy hookah in the evening”
In fact, Ranbir even assisted the men of the house in milking the cows!
The source continues, “Ranbir had the time of his life trying to milk the cows! It was such an amusing sight…everyone was in splits! But all in all, they learnt a lot about the lifestyle of a typical jatt family which was important for filming; and also ended up having a great time doing things that they wouldn’t otherwise get to experience.”
Now that’s called milking and mixing work with pleasure!

When you talk about fashion, say something good. Designers do work hard to put their best creative work forward. The young whiz kids from WLC Fashion School had some amazing creations that put them on par with our well established Bollywood fashion designers. One couldn’t help but notice a Manish Malhotra or a Vikram Phadnis raising eyebrows at some of the mind-boggling creations which were truly international. While most others would love to burst your pretty little microcosmic inward looking bubble and get nasty with some of the collections, I admit that most of the creations were wearable and trendy. The colour combinations were blended with their respective themes. Even the men’s wear collection was truly rustic and gave the collections an Adonis look. WLC sure has some amazing talent up their sleeve.

Aamir Khan known for his penchant for professionalism and punctuality broke his record by making an entry almost 2 hours late for the music release launch of the above mentioned film. However, once he was at the venue, the press and photographers were charmed with his dazzling smile and humble approach. Apparently, Aamir Khan took time from his busy schedule for his dear friend Sunil Bohra and came all the way to suburbs from Madh island. While director Tigmanshu Dhulia, actors Jimmy Shergil and Randeep Hooda were present, Mahi missed all the adulation since she was in in Delhi to host the National Award.
One must confess that Tigmanshu Dhulia who has made some beautiful films has a winner on hands. The theatrical promo is a must watch with some impressive visual loactions and some intense acting from the threesome actors – Jimmy, Randeep and Mahi. A sure shot winner at the box-office, Bohra Bros surely will pave the way to making good films in the near future.

You have seen one of them, you have seen them all. That’s the usual flavor of being part of an audience at a fashion show. Somehow the CHIMERA FASHION SHOW was an unusual experience. Kudos to Siddharth Kannan who brilliantly did an effective voice over for the show. His baritone voice has already enthralled zillions of listeners on this radio show, his current Chat show for a TV channel is being talked about also – Sid did add enrich the entire experience at this event.
A must mention about Rashmi Virmani who brilliantly choreographed the show blending it with innovative concepts and mind-boggling, foot-stomping music that went with the varied themes of the collections being showcased by students of the fashion college. Frankly, the show wouldn’t have been a big hit had it not been for these two creative wizards.

While Ram Gopal Verma seems to have lost track of the successful mantra for box-office success and has been churning films in a factory mode, Anurag Kashyap recollects the learnings from RGV and ensures he doesn’t take the wrong route. “One thing that I learnt from Ramu was that one shouldn’t take too many responsibilities onto oneself in a bid to be a perfectionist at all of them. That’s one of the reasons you would find my films listing out many co-producers who look after various aspects of the film. I would rather be associated with the creative aspects of the film and let my team handle the mechanics of the execution. RGV has been a great learning process in my career.”

He has an exotic passion for cinema, his films have been trend-setters of sorts, he deviates from successful formula mantras and has been an achiever on his own steam. Like it or lump it, you cannot afford to ignore this Maverick. ANURAG KASHYAP hasn’t just been a whiz at his craft but a revolutionary of exorcising main-stream cinema with an international silky feel to his story-telling.
When quizzed about his constant entanglement with the spice element in all his films which grabs the audience’s eyeballs and much more, Anurag in his true inimitable style discloses that his recent film venture MICHAEL has a different kind of spice unlike his previous films, “the spice in this Naseeruddin Shah starrer is that he is playing a video pirate. The emotions are strong; the subject hasn’t been tackled earlier. As for raising the bar of cinema and making it more meaningful it has been a rigorous endeavour to show something different. While most people ask me why my films are more focused on main-stream subjects, I counter question them if they ask the same thing to people who make only commercial films.”
Nasser and Anurag have always shared a great bonding with each other and Anurag subtly affirms that, “Nasser has always supported me in my films when I didn’t have the budget and now too when I can pay him his price”. When an intelligent, creative team gangs up together one can expect a volcanic appeal to an entire film project. The first look of the promo of the film MICHAEL is compelling, hard-hitting and some intense acting from Naseeruddin Shah and Mahi Gill. Director Ribhu Das Gupta’s visualisation of capturing some grungy crowd scenes in Kolkatta will be definitely a treat to watch. Knowing Anurag’s talent for spotting talent and unmasking some harsh realities of life onto celluloid, MICHAEL is one film to watch out for as elaborated by Vikram Malhotra (C00 Viacom 18 Motion Pictures).

One can’t help but talk about Garam Dharam’s charismatic appeal even today. Humility personified, Bollywood legend Dharamendra confessed that he has been whole-heartedly supported by the media in being the star that he is today. For someone who is known to be health conscious and an avid food lover, this Punjabi Jat was a treat at the launch of YUMMY CHEF the “heat and eat” gourmet line of Indian vegetarian products.
Dharam stressed the fact that he agreed to endorse this product only after he was convinced that the food which will be sold initially in the international market was a true treat for the health conscious client base. Although he categorically stated that, “I am relatively new to the endorsement bandwagon, I admit that the success of Yamla Pagla Deewana has opened up doors for me. What I liked about the food which I sampled was that the offerings are exotic unlike the competitors. I can vouch that whoever tries it will burp with happiness aur Dharam ko yaad rakenge.”
Surely will do remember Dharam like we have always appreciated his style of acting and choice of roles. He has been one actor who hasn’t fizzled out into oblivion and yet managed to comeback with a successful bang.

If Salman Khan is a rage today for his toned physique, yesteryear actor Dharamendra has always lent an iconic symbol to the macho man of Bollywood cinema. At the launch of the YUMMY CHEF THE “heat and eat” gourmet line of Indian vegetarian products, one got candid with Dharam’s passion for food.
Here are some quotes from his side:
“I have always eaten food that wouldn’t spoil my health. Yes, there was a time when I used to drink a lot, I would have eaten anything. I could have been sipping tharra and having macchii with it. But now I am quite health conscious and ensure of having the right food”.
“Every man in this world will vouch for the fact that maa ke haath ka khaana is always the tastiest. Every husband will always find faults with his wife’s cooking over his mother’s flavoured food”.
“The best food I have had in a Bollywood celebrity’s house is at Dilip Kumar’s house. I have eaten some mouth-watering biryanis cooked by Saira ji and Dilip saab who has to abstain from eating certain foods has cheated on his strict diet with me while Saira hasn’t been around”.
“When people ask me the secret of my glowing skin even at this age, I would attribute it to some of my personal traits about living life. My maxim is ‘love humanity, give love and get it back. It all reflects back on your face’. That’s one of the reasons I am still the same person despite my share of success all these years”.

Sunny and Bobby Deol have taken on their Dad Dharam’s legacy of being ardent fitness freaks. However when asked about their agenda for healthy living and eating, Dharam disclosed, “I cannot match my kids footsteps in their ideologies of fitness. Yes, they are more acute to healthy eating than me since they are more focussed on newer trends and fads. I remember catching Bobby cheekily throwing his glass of milk every morning out of the balcony as a kid. He abhorred milk and it was my neighbours who brought it to my notice that the building walls were milk stained and I realised who the culprit was.”
When quizzed about Dharam ji exercise regime, one is quite shocked that till date, he, “cycles 45 minutes in the morning, does half dips exercises and some routine ethnic vyaayam”. Kudos to a family who is geared for fitness.
